Sintra is famed for its historic palaces, castles, scenic beaches, parks and gardens. Below are some historical places we highly recommend a visit! Pena Palace: A colorful and whimsical palace that is one of the most popular attractions in Sintra. It is located on a hilltop and offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Quinta da Regaleira: A palace and gardens known for their intricate architecture and beautiful landscaping. The gardens feature a labyrinth of tunnels, grottoes, and waterfalls. Sintra National Palace: A medieval palace that was used by the Portuguese royal family for centuries. It features beautiful Gothic and Manueline architecture. Monserrate Palace: A beautiful palace known for its stunning gardens and architecture. It features a mix of Gothic, Indian, and Moorish styles.

Beaches Nearby

Located a short drive from the wedding venue, below are a list of beautiful beaches worth a visit. - Praia da Adraga: Located just a few kilometers west of Sintra, this stunning beach is known for its dramatic rock formations, clear water, and golden sand. It has been named one of the best beaches in Portugal and Europe. - Praia das maçãs: A popular family beach located just a few kilometers from Sintra, Praia das Maçãs offers a large sandy beach, calm waters, and a small waterpark. - Praia grande - This long, wide beach is located just south of Sintra and is popular for surfing and bodyboarding. It has a boardwalk lined with restaurants and cafes and is a great place to watch the sunset. This beach is also where our Welcome Party restaurant venue is located!

Try the grilled sardines or the octopus rice. Lawrence's Restaurant: Located in the historic Lawrence's Hotel, this restaurant offers stunning views of the town & surrounding countryside. It serves a range of dishes, including fresh seafood & Portuguese classics like bacalhau. Incomum by Luis Santos: This innovative restaurant offers a fusion of Portuguese & international cuisine, using fresh, local ingredients. Try the pork belly or the octopus carpaccio. Casa Piriquita: This historic bakery & cafe is famous for its queijadas (Portuguese custard tarts) & travesseiros (puff pastry filled with almond cream). It's a great place to stop for a coffee or a light snack.
