We're FINALLY getting married!

We met through mutual friends during our lunch period in high school. Matt was always shy and never said much to me during lunch but it turned out we had quite a few mutual friends! One day, a friend of ours gave me a ride home and while backing out, backed into the ditch. I took a photo and the next day I had to show Matt! Later that night Matt reached out via MYSPACE asking for me to send him the picture so he could show his dad....and that my friends is how I got trapped into asking Matt for HIS number! From that point on, we talked here and there until Matt finally got the courage to ask me on a date... Speaking of that date...Matt wanted to take me to see "My Bloody Valentine 3D" but he hadn't seen me without my glasses before so I lied and said my mom wouldn't let me go...but we could go to a Varsity basketball game instead! Hahah. Matt will never let me live this down and claims our relationship is built upon a lie hahaha!

Back in March of 2021, we took a trip to Chicago to celebrate our 12 year anniversary! While there, I talked Matt into going to a jewelers that was within walking distance of our hotel. Once we got there, we were just browsing and I came across the most beautiful ring. Matt ended up buying said ring that day! However, told me I would have to wait for a proper proposal to get it. Six. Months. Later. Yes, he held onto that thing for SIX MONTHS! Finally, my birthday weekend rolled around and I was getting ready for our dinner. He came up to me, holding the box with the ring in it. "You've got a choice to make...you either wear it for the night because it's your birthday and give it back later OR you don't wear it." I of course chose to wear it! When we got home I took the ring off, handed it to him and said "I think you have something to ask me"....and with that, Matt got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! It was just perfect! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Colorado!
