Our Story
How They Met
Karrah and Matthew’s story began unexpectedly at ACD Distribution, where Karrah worked part-time while at UW, and Matthew joined in early 2019. Their first meeting was brief but unforgettable, with Karrah feeling an instant spark.
Despite their connection, timing was never right. They grew close during the pandemic, sharing the strange task of taking office temps and bonding through laughing about the fever dream that was the pandemic, most notably Tiger King.
On Karrah’s last day, they had a lunch that turned into a hilariously lost adventure due to Karrah’s wrong directions (a first of many). As they said goodbye, Matthew said, “The next time I text you, it won’t be about work.” Hours later, Karrah finally added him on Snapchat.
Snaps turned into long convos, and a ride home after a softball game led to hours of talking in his truck. Their first official date lasted 8 hours and they knew it was meant to be.

After only 1 month of dating, Matthew joined Karrah on a work trip passing out meat sticks across Iowa. During a car ride, Karrah knocked out and Matthew took this photo–they didn't know she had mono!

The couple's first date stretched over 8 hours, beginning at Ale Asylum (RIP), then hopping around State Street to places like Brats and the Memorial Union, and wrapping up at the Tasting Room.
