While officially we met through Hinge, the dating app, in 2021, we were in each other's periphery for years before that. I actually knew who he was when he reached out to me, but Matt didn't remember me. A definite ego boost for him! Although a short one! Our first date was a lovely walk around Venice and the canals, which I sneakily did not mention was where I lived. It wasn't until we hugged goodbye on our second date though, and neither of us wanted the hug to end, that we knew there was something between us worth exploring. For the next couple months our relationship was virtual as I was joining my parents on Nantucket for the summer. It wasn't a traditional way to start a partnership, but it worked for us in it's own way. Matt was the first person I ever went on a date with from the apps, so it was harder for me to want to settle down. Nonetheless after short while of being back in LA, it was clear that was the next step for us. In early 2022, I moved to east side of LA, and we now were no longer in a long distance relationship between Venice and Glassel Park (LA traffic is no joke)! In 2023 we moved in together, and after excitedly looking at rings, which became bigger than Matt expected :), we got engaged over the summer. Be sure to check out our video of the moment! Now in 2024 we are inviting you all to celebrate our love, a commitment to growth, and the beautiful journey we have been on. This relationship has taught us that relationships truly take work. We don’t believe you simply “find” your soulmate, but you choose each day to accept them as such. Our lives are just starting and we can't wait to see what we learn. And we could never have done it without all of you (and our couples therapist) !
