Walt Disney World

Disney is about a 1 hour drive from the Sheraton Tampa Brandon Hotel. Either drive over or fly into Orlando International Airport to make a weekend out of it and take a trip to the happiest place on earth!

Universal Studios/ Islands of Adventure

If you're venturing to Orlando, stop by Universal or IOA for Harry Potter World! Only a little over 1 hour from Tampa or fly direct into Orlando International Airport.

Ybor City Historic District

Lively Ybor City is known for boutiques and vintage shops on 7th Avenue, which also hosts Cuban and Latin American eateries. The Centro Ybor mall offers indie fast food, bars, and a cinema. Housed in a 1920s bakery, Ybor City State Museum has exhibits on the cigar industry and the area’s immigrant communities. The GaYBOR district around 7th Avenue and 15th Street attracts a diverse crowd to its bars and clubs.

Columbia Restaurant

The original Columbia Restaurant, located in the historic Ybor City neighborhood in Tampa, Florida, is the oldest continuously operated restaurant in Florida, the oldest Spanish restaurant in the United States, and one of the largest Spanish restaurants in the world with 1,700 seats in 15 dining rooms taking up 52,000 square feet over an entire city block.. Founded in 1905 in, the landmark is still owned by the Hernandez/Gonzmart family and serves Spanish and Cuban cuisine.

We have had many special moments here including this being where Matt popped the question and I said YES!! Treat your special someone to a steak dinner at the TOP steakhouse in Tampa! We recommend making a reservation far in advance and also asking for a tour of the wine cellar and an additional reservation for the dessert room after dinner.

Armature Works

The "Chelsea Market" of Tampa. Armature Works is a fully restored mixed-use building that breathes new life into the historic Tampa Heights neighborhood. With its unobstructed view of the Hillsborough River, the historic structure has been reinvented as a premier community destination with innovative eateries, Heights Public Market, reimagined event spaces and an exclusive coworking space.

Sparkman Wharf

The "Smorgasburg" of Tampa Bay. Situated along Garrison Channel in downtown Tampa, Sparkman Wharf celebrates the best of Tampa – good weather, waterfront views, music, craft beer, and exceptional dining.

La Teresita Restaurant & Cafe

Matt and I miss this place soooo much!! It is a super authentic cuban restaurant that is actually open 24hrs most days if you go to the cafe section on the west side of the building (it has an actual restaurant dining section and a separate cafe section but honestly we've only been the cafe side of it and it is well worth it!)

Fun and casual! Great option for a group of friends to get together and hang!

An awesome brewery in Seminole Heights which is not alone. Go to their website and look into the brew bus brew stops. This super fun bus schedule loops around the Seminole Heights/Tampa Heights/Ybor City area and provides stops at multiple breweries (SO GREAT!), eateries, a meadery (LOVE!), and a rum disterary (Also LOVE!). If you have time and are a fan of craft beer or just a good time with friends check this out! Matt and I will definitely be trying to work this into our crazy schedule while we are down!

Very cute winery that is different from your typical winery. Go to their website or just check it out spur of the moment, you won't be disappointed!

Tampa Theatre

Straz Center for the Performing Arts

Catch a play or musical if you have time. Would want to purchase the tickets ahead of time to ensure seats. Matt and I love going here. I introduced him here to his first live musical, Wicked, when I won their ticket lottery. He then actually continued to accompany me to more shows and enjoyed them; don't let him tell you otherwise lol.

Fun outdoor mall to walk around if there's extra time or if you need to pick up something you forgot but if that's the case maybe stop at the large Westfield Brandon Mall that is much closer.
