-HOW WE MET OUR CREW-

Krisia Haag

Matron of Honor

Krisia and I met volunteering as leaders for a high school ministry at our church. After countless coffee dates, grabbing dinner often and challenging each other on our workouts we became best friends. She is my go to girl for being spontaneous, whether it's a trip to Mexico or two weeks notice for a quick visit to D.C. We love a good adventure together and keeping life interesting!

Jeff Highman

Best Man

I met Jeff in 5th grade and he's become a brother over the last 20+ years. We have made countless memories competing in sports, enjoying late nights on the town, attending sporting events and concerts, and adventuring around the country. Whether we're climbing mountains in Colorado or simply enjoying a fire in his backyard, I always admire Jeff's character and the way he pursues his faith and enjoys life. He is an amazing husband and dad to four kids, and will be a great resource as I journey down those roads in my own life.

Laura Stewart

Matron of Honor

Laura and I became friends after a summer of playing ultimate frisbee together. Our moms thought we would get along well and that we did. We love working out together, cooking, baking, grabbing coffee and catching up. After Laura got married, she and her husband moved to Colorado, which meant I had a new fun place to visit often! We now enjoy phone calls to catch up and visits filled with all of our favorite activities! I'm thankful for how intentional Laura is in keeping up on our friendship, even if it's from a thousand miles away.

Paul W

Groomsman

Paul and I met in 8th grade and immediately became close friends. We've made memories on the football field, traveled to Belize, Montana, and many places in between, and enjoy catching up over a little blackjack whether at the Cosmopolitan or Ho Chunk. No matter how far apart geographically we are I can always count on Paul for a good laugh and genuine friendship.

Haley Schoenberger

Bridesmaid

Haley and I met in college and got to know each other well when we became roommates post college. Haley was in Med School when we lived together and despite an incredibly intense schedule, she always made time to connect. We enjoyed lots of wine nights and margs, Cyclebar and DIY projects. She has the cutest bar cart, that was my inspiration to make one after she moved out ;) She now lives in Dallas where she is completing her residency. We share a love for travel and visiting each other when we can! I'm so grateful for Haley's consistency in calling to catch up and making time to see me when she is in town, even when there are many people for her to see.

Jesse Rinzel

Groomsman

Jesse transferred to ALCS in 8th grade from a rival school who always dominated us in basketball. In high school he got his drivers license before everyone else, and would drive us around in his brown van with a custom sound system. After graduation, he was my main counterpart for Badger gamedays. We've come a long way since those days, and our more recent adventures include an amazing tour of Kenya and Rwanda. Jesse is a great friend: fun, competitive, outgoing, easy to get along with and always up for an adventure. He lives with his wife Lucinda in South Carolina, and they are expecting their first kid in November!

Kristina Waltman

Bridesmaid

Kristina is Matt's sister. She and I met years ago at Carrie's bridal shower and wedding, but have had the joy of getting to know each other better since Matt and I started dating. Matt and I have made a couple of trips to Indiana to spend time with her and her family. She and her husband Kaleb have three beautiful kiddos that we love seeing and playing with at family gatherings. I'm excited to be gaining such a sweet sister-in-law!

Brad Helmholdt

Groomsman

Brad has the honor of being the longest tenured friend on either side of the wedding party. We met in 4th grade, and soon after that our families became close and we grew up together. We biked, camped, played soccer and football, made it to State in golf, went on mission trips and road trips and overall participated in many shenanigans together. Brad is a high character guy and we will remain friends no matter where life takes us. He and his wife Nikki live outside the Twin Cities and have two boys.

Claire Ehrensbeck

Bridesmaid

Claire and I have been roommates for the past three years. We've enjoyed many sunsets over Lake Mendota together at the Memorial Union, on the boat, and at the beach down the street from us. We love taking walks, grabbing wine or dinner and catching up. Past and future travel adventures are often topics of conversation sprinkled in with deep dives about our season of life and dreams we have in the next year, five, or ten. She is always there to listen, provides sound, wise advice and is always up for a fun activity around town!

Joshua Thiry

Groomsman

Josh is Moriah's youngest brother and I'm pumped he'll soon be my brother too. Along with Nash, Josh welcomed me into the family right away and we have bonded while enjoying the woods in Minnesota and the beaches in Florida. Josh is a hard worker, genuine friend, and has a bright future ahead of him. He enjoys life and always brightens your day when you see him. Bonus points for his Lululemon discount hookup.

Carrie Highman

Bridesmaid

Carrie and I met through her sister Laura. We were able to spend a lot of time together helping with details for Laura's wedding. Shortly after that, Carrie got married. I was eager to help with all things wedding and the rest is history! Over the years, we've enjoyed working out together, dreaming about our future careers, businesses, and travels around the world. Carrie has always been a friend who's there to listen and provides sound advice. She and her husband own their videography business and are a true inspiration to work hard and chase your dreams!

Nash Thiry

Groomsman

Nash is Moriah's oldest younger brother, and I'm thankful he approved of Moriah's relationship choices and welcomed me into the family. I really enjoy the closeness of the Thiry fam and can't wait to continue the good times we've already had. Nash is intelligent and independent, but also a caring and considerate family man at heart. We will definitely be visiting him in Orlando as long as he lives down there.

Chelsea Kiecker

Bridesmaid

Chillin' poolside together since 2010. Chels is a close friend and one of the longest friendships I've had. We met and became besties in 7th grade when we both joined the track team. We competed together through high school, became Badgers attending UW-Madison together, and kept in touch after college with travels to see each other across the country. Chels spent time in Arkansas, D.C., Illinois, after college and thankfully is now back in Wisco, which makes visits much easier and happen more often :)

Dan Gaspar

Groomsman

Dan and I were classmates through many of our formative years. He has stayed relatively local which allows us to see each other quite a bit, and we've become closer in the years after college. We have gone on epic trips to places like LA, Las Vegas, Miami, and Boston, and always make sure to find the trendy breakfast spot when traveling. Dan has an awesome family, and I really enjoy being "Mr. Matt" to his four boys, even when they continue to shoot me with nerf guns. Dan and his wife Nicole live in Edgerton, WI.

Jessica McCammon

Bridesmaid

Jess was the first friend I met in college and I couldn't imagine college without her. We studied together, had lots of game nights with friends, wine nights and we can't forget the strawberry daiquiris! She made time to catch up with me over skype when I lived in France. We played frisbee all through college and after together (and still do)! We were roommates our senior year of college and after we graduated, until she got married. Thankfully, she still lives in Madison with her husband and adorable corgi, Obie!

Kaleb Waltman

Groomsman

Kaleb married my sister Kristina in 2016 and became my first brother in law. I immediately approved of my sister's decision when I learned Kaleb liked to golf, hunt, be outside, and enjoy a fine cigar and bourbon on occasion. Then I learned he's super handy and even had a motorcycle, and I became a little self conscious. What a man's man. More importantly, I greatly respect the way he leads and loves my sister and their three kids. Kaleb and my sister live outside Ft. Wayne, Indiana.

Alyssa Greeley

Bridal Attendant

Alyssa and I met our sophomore year of college at a women’s Bible study. The next year, when I returned from France for spring semester, we were roommates and lived together for three years after that! Our friendship grew as we enjoyed many dance parties in the living room, meals, exploring coffee shops, working out, frisbee and so many chats about life. Lyss is kind, fun and always there to listen and provide a Godly perspective and advice!
