COVID-19 Safety

The pandemic has been hard on us all. We've pushed back our wedding date multiple times* in hopes of hosting a fun and safe event for our guests. Please note the following guidelines: 1) Don't attend if you're sick! If you have symptoms on the day of our event, don't come. We love you and will miss you, but we would rather you cancel than jeopardize the safety of other guests. You have our permission, our feelings won't be hurt. 2) You must be vaccinated to attend - The City of Chicago and our venue require proof of vaccination for all eligible attendees and vendors. Please bring your vaccination card or photo of card and photo ID to present upon entry. 3) Masks are optional, however we ask that any guest wishing to go mask-less to please take a rapid antigen test the day of our event (or the day before if you are attending the rehearsal reception. The entire wedding party will be tested so you can be confident that we're safe (and fun) to be around. *Fun fact: Meagan and Matt got engaged 12/24/2019. We found our wedding venue on 3/8/20. One week later, the world shut down.

Hotel

Sheraton Grand Chicago

Shuttle Details: A shuttle will be available to transport guests from the Sheraton to the Wedding Venue. Location: Convention Entrance, just east of the main hotel entrance. First pickup: 4:00 pm (for close family arriving early for photos Second pickup: 5:10 pm (for all other guests) The room block is now closed however additional rooms are still available on their website at a reasonable rate. The wedding party will be staying at The Sheraton Grand Hotel and we have a designated block of rooms. To book a hotel room under our block, please click the link below. Let Meagan or Matt know if you're having technical difficulties. Parking: Note that the rate for parking at the Sheraton is $45/day for those on the room block ($63/day normally). According to the SpotHero site/app, there is also a parking lot across the street for $35/day. If you prefer to choose your own hotel, you're in luck! There are a number of options and price points available downtown, many within blocks of the Sheraton.

Chicago has amazing Airbnb options all around the city. Meagan and Matt live in Bucktown/Wicker Park but can make recommendations of some great neighborhoods to check out

Flight

O'Hare International Airport

Chicago has two major airports - O'Hare is the largest with more options for domestic and international travel. It's approx. 35 minute drive to downtown Chicago on 1-90 E. You can take a shuttle, taxi, Uber or Lyft. If you want to experience Chicago the best mode of transportation (in our opinion) is to take the CTA Blue Line train out of O'Hare. You'll be downtown in 45mins for around $5

Flight

Midway International Airport

Midway Airport is on the South Side of Chicago and is great for Southwest Airlines travelers. You can be downtown in 30 mins driving or take the CTA Orange Line train to get downtown in 20 minutes. Fun fact: Matt grew up a stone's throw from Midway runway!

Don't be afraid! Matt and Meagan spent the last decade car-free in the city and used public buses and trains as their primary mode of transportation.

Shuttle

Sheraton Grand Hotel to Salvage One

March 26, 2022 5:00 pm - 12:30 pm

A shuttle will be running from the hotel to the reception and back. Otherwise it is less than a 15 minute uber/cab ride if you wanted to go on your own schedule.

Wedding Venue Parking

The good news: the ceremony and reception are at the same location. The not good news: there is no reserved parking on-site, but there will be street parking available and it is a safe area. We recommend Lyft or Uber if you're concerned about parking.
