Camarillo to Tahoe Via 395 N (Matt's Preferred way to drive)
This way is the way Matt's family drives every year. It will drop you off in south shore. A couple of tips and places to stop by and see on the way up: 1. In BIG PINE, CA you can find the best BBQ in California. On the 395N it will be on your right side. Matt plans what time he leaves Cam so he can eat here. 2. In BISHOP, CA Eric Schatt's Bakery can be found on the left side of 395. They have amazing home made pastries and bread to die for. Matt's favorite thing from there is their made to order sandwiches, sourdough bread, and chocolate covered honeycomb. 3. IN MINDEN, NV a great place to stop and get breakfast, lunch, or dinner is at Katie's Country Kitchen located in the Carson Valley Inn. They serve up some of the best french toast you'll ever have made from house made bread. Also the chicken fried steak is from God.
