October 2018: A Progressive Beginning The Progressive Dinner—an unassuming volunteer event for two official NC State Computer Science Ambassadors—ended up being the backdrop for the most thrilling meet-cute and the reason we’re all gathering next June. September 2019: Beer Nights and Study Sessions After a chance encounter on Glenwood avenue (the college-student packed party street) at peak party hour (8:30 PM, sarcasm), we started spending more time together. Weekly Friday night beers at Trophy Brewing with our friends, late-night study sessions, and of course, a little more Glenwood Avenue shenanigans. March 2020: Vegas, Baby Senior year wrapped up with an action-packed spring break trip to Las Vegas with our friends. Somewhere between casino hopping and long grueling hikes, we made it official while watching the sunset in the Valley of Fire. 2020: Pandemic Pivot to Arizona When the world shut down, Matt accompanied Anna on a nearly spontaneous move to Tucson, Arizona. We spent those blazing summers indoors, building a shared love of video games, board games, and excellent takeout. When the desert cooled, we hit the trails and fully embraced the Sonoran vibes. January 2022: Richmond Days (Our Big-City Era) Matt once again followed Anna to Richmond, Virginia where they settled into the Scott’s Addition, a cozy corner of the city filled with breweries, cideries, and restaurants all within stumbling distance. April 2023: Home Sweet (Stinky) Home We found ourselves back in NC, buying our first home! It came with… a lot of character: stinky carpets, wasps in the fireplace, and many, many paint jobs. It’s still a work in progress, but we’ve loved giving this house some much-needed TLC and learning the ropes of homeowner life together. January 2025: The Question Matt proposed at one of our old favorite hangout spots on NC State’s Veterinary campus—a quiet place where we used to spend hours watching the cows in the field. It was a full-circle moment. June 2026: The Wedding We’re tying the knot and can’t wait to celebrate with all of you! We’re so excited to share this day with our favorite people and hope you’ll be able to join us for the party.
