Hello family and friends! We know that many of you may have concerns in regards to the coronavirus. We have been working very closely alongside of Crispin to ensure the safety of all our guests. We are moving forward with our wedding for July 24th. Due to covid-19, we have made small changes to accommodate social distancing. Our ceremony was originally supposed to take place indoors at a church. However, we have decided to hold it at an outdoor ceremony at Crispin Hill. This way guests will be outside and will be more spread out. Due to this, we have moved our ceremony back an hour. Make sure to check the schedule. Our reception is also outdoors under tents. This will allow everyone to be more spread out. Of course, we want our guests safety to be our top priority. That being said, if you are someone who is at risk or feels uncomfortable, we ask that you stay home. We will miss you, however, we completely understand. We are looking in to doing some sort of live stream for those who are not able to attend. More information will be given out as the wedding comes closer. Thank you all for your prayers! We are so excited to get married!! Please check out our FAQ page to see specific details for how our wedding will look with social distancing. If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to reach out! Updated: 6/16/2020
Matt and Marisa first met when Marisa came to check out Cru's large group meeting at SUNY Cortland. To her pleasant surprise, Matt was the main speaker at the meeting. Marisa admired Matt and enjoyed listening to his messages. After every message, everyone would always split up into discussion groups to talk about it or ask any questions. Oddly enough, Matt and Marisa always seemed to end up in the same group ;). Matt would always call on Marisa when no one would volunteer to give an answer. Marisa always swore that she hated being called on, but she secretly liked the fact that Matt chose her. The two got to know each other more by attending outside events. Marisa distinctly remembers going to a Christmas party where Matt singled her out of everyone at the party and called her perfect "at least 7 times". Once Matt went on to complete his student teaching, he continued to keep in touch with Marisa. When Matt had finished school, he invited Marisa up to one of his baseball games that he was coaching. After winning a section championship title, Matt took Marisa out to dinner. Later that night, he finally asked her to be his girlfriend. He did this by giving her a teddy bear as a birthday present. Inside it was a note attached that read, "Marisa, I can't BEAR to be without you....Will you be my girlfriend?". Of course Marisa said yes. The next two and a half years were filled with many adventures including dinner dates, movies, hikes, a trip to disney, family vacations, and much more. The two grew closer each day and realized they couldn't imagine their lives without each other. On September 21st, 2019, Matt brought Marisa to see her favorite view, a sunset, and got on one knee and asked her to marry him. Marisa couldn't have been more sure of anything in her entire life. The two are very excited for their future. Thank you for being a part of it!!
