Travel

We are so grateful that you're considering traveling to be with us on our big day.

Flight

Where to fly into

The easiest way to get to Lake Como, is to fly into Milan. The name of the airport is Milan Malpensa (MXP). From there, it is only about an hour drive (if you rent a car or grab a taxi) or an hour and 20min train ride. Taxis from Milan airport to Lake Como will run you a little over $100 and the train ride will be about $15 per person. We've heard mixed reviews about the trains, some say it's amazing and others say the train schedules are unreliable. You can also fly into Rome (Rome–Fiumicino International Airport: FCO), however, it is a 6 and a half hour drive or a 10 hour train ride. There is a flight from Rome to Milan as well thats about an hour long and flights within Europe are super cheap, so that would be another option.

Rental Car

How to get around

We recommend renting a car from the airport and driving to Lake Como. Although there are trains, we don't know much about the reliability. If you do not wish to drive, taxis and Uber Black are available, but also no idea about the number of drivers in the area. There are lots of rental car places you can choose from including familiar ones like Hertz. If you fly into the Milan airport, it should be easy, so please don't feel the need to use this site, but it is an option.

Where to stay

This is completely up to you! You really can't pick a bad place to stay since everything is so beautiful. Personally, we are looking into staying at an Airbnb. We have found those to be more affordable and there are some right on the lake with amazing views. There are also literally hundreds of hotels in the area. If you're looking for a good hotel instead, check out some of the options below: *Luxurious* Villa d'Este Villa Lario Mandarin Oriental Grand Hotel Tremezzo *Mid-tier* Suites and Atelier Hilton Lake Como Sheraton Lake Como *Cheap* We recommend Airbnb or Vrbo over a cheap hotel Even though the Relais Villa Vittoria (where we're getting married) is in Laglio, Lake Como, Italy (17 minute drive away from downtown Como, Italy) you can stay in other parts of the lake! Each little town has its own vibe and is not that far away from where we're getting married. Take a look at the map and book what you're comfortable with. **Note that you can stay at the Relais Villa Vittoria, but we don't necessarily recommend it. After reading their reviews, people love the weddings there but it seems like they don't have good Wi-Fi with being directly on the lake and Wi-Fi is pretty nice to have while you're abroad** If you need help with anything, or you want recommendations, let us know!
