The Athenæum, originally named Das Deutsche Haus, is the most ornate and best-preserved building affiliated with the German American community of Indianapolis. Once used as a German American Turnverein and clubhouse, it currently houses many groups, organizations, and businesses. If you decide to stop by, be sure to get a Butterscotch Latte from Coat Check (coffee shop inside!) Or, check out the Biergarten at the Rathskeller for some German food and good drinks!
The Children's Museum of Indianapolis is the world's largest children's museum. There is something for everyone here! I recommend you get your tickets ahead of time and plan to come early, since the parking garage can fill up later in the day.
