Travel Note
Port Bolivar is a small beach community on a peninsula. There is a ferry that runs every 20 minutes during the day from the Galveston side. Weekends in October should not have a long line or wait for the ferry. There are not many hotels on the bolivar side and if you are coming with a group of people, you may look into renting a beach house in Port bolivar or Crystal Beach or you can get one of the many hotels available in Galveston.
