Matt and Ellie will be having a chill hangout at Braxton Brewery around 3 p.m. the Saturday after the wedding. Text us Saturday if you plan to stop by, just so we can keep you informed if we move locations! Braxton is a cool local brewery with a beautiful rooftop (it has igloos if it's cold) and local pizza.

Luckily, fun is in walking distance if you don't feel like seeing anything else in the Greater Cincinnati area! We absolutely love Covington (where the wedding takes place) and the surrounding shops, bars, and restaurants. It's also right across the river from beautiful Downtown, Cincinnati, with a very picturesque view of the city and Roebling Bridge, as you can see here in our picture! We're working on a list of recommended spots for those of you who will be around before and after the wedding.
Only a few minutes walk from the wedding venue you will run into Mainstrasse — an eclectic and lively neighborhood full of even more local watering holes and unique places to check out. This part of town gets pretty hopping on the weekends.
Cincinnati is full of unique neighborhoods and vibrant history and we're not listing them all, but we especially encourage you to check out Downtown Cincinnati, just across the Ohio River from the wedding events. There are pedestrian bridges you can walk from Kentucky to Ohio. Learn more about what to do and the downtown districts on this website.
We want to shout out Over-the-Rhine and Findlay Market as our favorite areas to visit Downtown, featuring artistic shops, trendy restaurants, and popular breweries like Rhinegheist. Stop by Findlay Market for a foodie paradise. Fun fact: Over-the-Rhine is one of the largest, intact urban historic districts in the country.
The Bengals will be in town the Sunday of wedding weekend (WHODEY), so if you like that sort of thing, the area around the stadium will be live. The Reds' and Bengals' stadiums are located in The Banks district right on the river, next to many bars and restaurants. There's also a scenic walking trail we recommend.
Newport on the Levee is only a few minutes away, featuring a plethora of outdoor shops, restaurants, and entertainment. The Newport Aquarium is known for its shark bridge and other unique exhibits if you like that sort of thing.
We wish we could invite Fiona the hippo, Cincinnati's biggest celebrity, to our wedding, but her schedule was already full. However, you can still visit the famous Fiona and experience one of the best zoos in the country.
For you bourbon lovers: Kentucky's famous Bourbon Trail is a collection of about 50 distilleries stretching from the Cincinnati area to a few hours into Kentucky. You can learn more and find out about tours on this website. Stay tuned for a potential distillery outing the weekend after the wedding!
If you're interested in making a bigger trip out of your visit, you don't have to travel far to be in the beautiful mountains of Kentucky and Tennessee or the Hocking Hills in Eastern Ohio. If you want to weave in other big cities to your trip, you have quite a few nearby: Louisville (1.5 hours) Columbus (2 hours) Nashville (4 hours) Pittsburgh (4.5 hours) Chicago (4.5 hours)
