Maddie and Will knew about each other throughout Junior High as they sometimes exchanged looks in the hallway and had mutual friends. They have Gabby Wycinski and Ty Shanton to thank for hanging out for the first time at a Junior High football game when Will first started High School. Some other people may remember the time Maddie and Will played against each other in indoor soccer and Will nearly gave Maddie a concussion while playing goalie. Will sometimes also thought it was funny to prank-call Maddie late at night to keep her guessing who was on the other end of the phone. The summer of 2015 will forever hold a special place in Maddie and Will's hearts. All it took was Will asking Maddie if he could help her carry the soccer ball bag (an important ritual for high school freshman to go through) to spark their love story. After many text messages, late night phone calls and dates to the movie theater, Will made their relationship official (and Facebook official) September 1st, 2015. Throughout being each other's school dance partners and going to each other's sporting events, their relationship stood the test of time. Maddie and Will ended up both deciding to attend The Ohio State University to study Health Sciences and Finance respectively. Through time and change (and many ups and downs), Will and Maddie tackled going to OSU football games, taking many midterms and finals, and spending weekends exploring Columbus together. On February 14th, 2020 Will promised to someday ask Maddie to marry him. Throughout this important time, Maddie and Will also became parents (dog parents) to their pride and joy, Jude Bug Palmer when they moved-in together in the Summer of 2021. Will graduated from The Ohio State University in May of 2022, as did Maddie in May of 2023. Maddie has since decided to stay at Ohio State to earn her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy as Will continues his career in corporate finance. October 21st, 2023 will go down as one of the best days of Maddie and Will's lives (outside of getting Jude and their special date to come in August). Maddie and Will had spent the previous night preparing for their friends Alana Bowser and Vinnie Pecchia to arrive by carving pumpkins that they would eventually put on their heads for a classic spooky October photoshoot. Crazy right! How did Maddie not see this coming? Maddie and Will woke up the next morning to prepare for their early morning photoshoot since it was a noon football game as Ohio State took on Penn State. During their photoshoot, Alana, Will and Ashley Shamp suggested taking some regular photos before they inevitably ruined their hair (and Maddie's makeup) by putting on their pumpkin heads. After Will fumbled with the engagement ring behind Maddie's back, he got down onto one knee and asked Maddie to marry him. Will said that he had planned out words to say, but had lost all train of thought in that moment (Will admitted he was more nervous in that moment than he had thought he would be). Maddie excitedly said YES! They celebrated immediately after with their friends at Ashley's house and with a Buckeyes win! Maddie and Will have been busy planning their dream wedding and cannot wait to celebrate with all of you soon!
