The Wedding Website of Tyler Mason and Jess Smith
Because of the intimate size of our wedding, we have chosen not to have a formal bridal party or groomsmen. Instead, we’d love for all our guests to help create a cohesive atmosphere by drawing inspiration from the colors shown. Wearing these specific colors isn't required; your presence alone is what matters most to us!
Question

What should I wear?

Answer

The couple will be wearing Ivory and Maroon. Please avoid wearing any shade of white or red, and consider incorporating the colors shown above! Our dress code is semi-formal (e.g., dress pants and blazers; mini or midi dresses and skirts; jumpsuits). Please note that the entire event will be outdoors and on grass - so bring layers, avoid wearing stilettos, and consider carrying an umbrella! We anticipate (and hope) that the weather should be in the 60's throughout most of the day. See here for historical weather averages: https://weatherspark.com/d/26101/9/27/Average-Weather-on-September-27-in-Putnam-Connecticut-United-States#Figures-Temperature

Question

What do we do if it rains?

Answer

The wedding venue is outdoors only. We will have a large tent for dinner and dancing in case of light or intermittent rain. Additionally, the wedding venue only books one venue per week, which leaves Sunday, 09/28 as a backup date. We only intend to utilize this backup date in the case of a very, very significant weather event on Saturday, 09/27 and clear weather on Sunday, 09/28. If you have the flexibility to do so and are worried about the wanting to attend the backup date if it is needed, you can plan your travel accordingly. And, if the backup date ends up not needed, there is lots to see and do around Providence! However, if you have to depart before the backup date and we end up needing it, we absolutely understand.

Question

When will RSVPs be sent out?

Answer

We expect to send RSVPs around early April 2025. In addition to indicating whether or not you are able to attend, this RSVP will allow you to state any dietary preferences/restrictions, indicate your interest in shuttle service, and access our registry.

Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

In terms of ease-of-access and things to do, Providence is the best home base. We are facilitating our welcome celebration and organizing transportation out of Providence. Hotels are abundant downtown. For Airbnbs, we highly recommend the east side of Providence (not to be confused with East Providence!). Specifically, please see the blue areas on this map: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EpSZNch3w1PXuIiv-8PGhvsEid0NfLfN/view?usp=sharing. You can feel free to look for lodging accommodations in Pomfret, but there are likely very few as it is a rural area.

Question

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive no later than 1:30 PM as the ceremony will begin promptly at 2:00 PM. If you are driving, we recommend leaving extra time for any unexpected delays and to situate parking. The owner of the property will help direct vehicles. If you are planning on utilizing the shuttle bus, we will communicate pickup time and location as we approach the date.

Question

Will there be transportation to and from the venue?

Answer

Yes! We have arranged 29 available seats on a shuttle bus to go from Providence, Rhode Island to the venue in Pomfret, Connecticut at no cost to guests for those who intend to enjoy drinks. We have estimated that this will provide enough seats for those who are likely to be interested. However, in case we have under-estimated, these seats will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis from the order we receive RSVP's. The shuttle will pick up all guests from a central location in Providence (exact location TBD, but will hopefully be a walk or very short Uber/Lyft from your lodging) and arrive at the venue around 1:30 PM, and will depart from the venue promptly at 8:00 PM. Please note that there are unlikely to be Uber or Lyft options in and out of Pomfret, CT, as it is quite rural.

Question

Do I get a plus one?

Answer

We have already reached out to those with plus ones. For any clarifications, feel free to reach out to us via text or email at masonsmithwedding2025@gmail.com!

Question

How should I communicate food allergies or dietary restrictions?

Answer

Our RSVPs will allow you to indicate any dietary restrictions or preferences. However, please feel free to text Tyler or Jess or email us at masonsmithwedding2025@gmail.com to make sure that we got you covered!
