The Strawberry Festival

Jess and Max met at the Strawberry Festival in Vista on May 24, 2015. We thought it would be fun to give a little he said / she said about how we met.

Jess: We got each other’s number from mutal friend & texted for days before he insisted that we meet in person. I remember seeing him & being so flustered. He came up to me, said hello, & we walked into the Strawberry Festival together. He said that two of his friends were there & he asked if I wanted to join. Of course I said yes! There was instant chemistry between the two of us, but I didn’t know if he was interested because he kept talking to his friends. I was thinking about heading out when he asked if I wanted to leave his friends & go for a walk at the park. I said yes, with butterflies in my stomach, but he made me laugh & talking to him was easy. We settled on a spot & sat talking for hours. When I let him know I had to leave he asked what my plans were for the night & if I would want to meet up with him later. I wanted to, but I thought that we should plan another date. He tried to kiss me & I told him no, but when I hugged him goodbye I kissed him. It was magical and he’s been on my mind ever since. Max: I can't tell you the time of day or the day of the week or even our first words but I do remember the way I felt. I was extremely nervous. We had spent a number of nights texting about life until finally I asked if she wanted to meet. Luckily, she said yes! I was so interested in this woman I just had to meet her. We first met at ‪Brengle Terrace park‬ & then made our way to the strawberry festival. A few of my friends were there & they got to know Jessica as well. I could sense Jess was feeling like she was under a microscope so I recommended we head back to the park. This gave us the opportunity to be alone for a bit & I showed her a side of the park she hadn't seen before. That’s when she tried to kiss me. I suggested we take it a bit slow & meet up again. She was elated & said yes to a second date. As we said our goodbyes we hugged & she tried to kiss me again! This time I caved in & kissed her back. It was & still is the best kiss I’ve ever had.
