Turo

Turo is a car sharing marketplace and great for short term rentals. They have airport pickups/drop offs, and this can be more affordable than the typical airport car rental. There are only a few cars left in Sun Valley, but there are still several options if you are flying into Boise.

Flight

Friedman Memorial Airport (SUN)

SUN is located in Hailey, which is 15 minutes from Ketchum (where you will find most of the activities and lodging). This is the most convenient airport with flights to/from SFO, LAX, ORD, SEA, SLC, DEN. Flights can be expensive, but this is a great option if you book in advance, or for anyone who is coming for a shorter period of time. If you're staying at a hotel, check to see if they have complimentary shuttle rides to and from the airport.

Flight

Boise Airport (Boise, ID)

Boise Airport is a 2.5hr drive to Sun Valley, but this is the most affordable and flexible option. Coordinate with friends and share a rental car. Guests might enjoy having a car in town to get around easily, but you can also return the rental car at the Friedman Memorial Airport in Hailey once you get to town. Vacation Rentals

If you are looking to stay in a vacation rental instead of a hotel, we recommend checking Vacasa or VRBO before Airbnb, as they have more options. Ketchum, Sun Valley and Elkhorn are all great, central towns/neighborhoods to stay in. There is a bike path that runs through Hailey, Ketchum and Sun Valley, but we recommend a car rental if you are much outside of Ketchum. Ubers and Lyfts are hard to come by.

Please book early in order to get the lowest rates. Similar to the airlines, as occupancy gets higher, the lodging rates increase. You may cancel up to 30 days prior to arrival with no penalty if needed.
