Travel Note
Hope Town is a quaint town accessible by boat only. Once at the airport, you will want to take the ten-minute taxi ride (they're typically waiting at the airport) to the ferry docks and a short ferry ride will take you directly to Hope Town. There are three different ferry dock drop offs once you arrive to Elbow Cay - the Lower Dock, the Post Office Dock, and the Lodge Dock. We suggest checking with your hotel or house manager to see where you should be dropped off. If you still have questions about which stop to get off at in Hope Town, your ferry driver can assist you. There are no cars in Hope Town, so once on the island, you'll want to grab your golf cart and head to wherever you are staying. Check with where you are staying and/or your golf cart company to see if you can be picked up from the ferry dock when you arrive on the island. Please note that golf carts are not allowed in the main part of Hope Town so when you go into town, you must leave your cart at the gate and walk into town. TIP! Groceries/alcohol and essential supplies are going to be less expensive at the stores in Marsh Harbour. It is recommended to ask your driver to stop at a local grocery store on Marsh Harbour to pick up essentials before getting on the ferry to Hope Town.
Travel Note
You generally don't need to reserve a ferry in advance if you will be taking the ferry during a time that the ferry runs regularly (check G & L Ferry website for times). If arriving outside of the regular time frame, you may want to look into chartering one. Hope Town is such a small community that you will get around exclusively by golf cart or walking during your time here! Golf carts can be limited so we strongly encourage securing yours ASAP. We encourage sharing/going in on a cart with friends and family if at all possible. Please note that there are NO cars or Ubers on the island, so booking a golf cart or ensuring you're able to share with someone is essential.
