Question

When should we book our golf cart?

Answer

ASAP! You may even consider booking your golf cart before booking your accommodations. Please note that there are NO cars or Ubers on the island, so booking a golf cart or ensuring you're able to share with someone is essential.

Will there be transportation provided?

Answer

There will not be transportation to and from the ceremony or reception. You will need to drive your golf cart to the church and then to the reception at Abaco Inn (about a ten minute golf cart ride from the church). Because no carts are allowed in Hope Town settlement, you will park your golf cart at the post office dock near the town gate and take a short walk to the church. If this lot is full, you can park along the main road where you'll likely see other carts parked. For the welcome party Friday evening, you will need to take the Hope Town Inn shuttle across the harbor if not staying at Hope Town Inn. This shuttle is free but please bring cash for tips. Closer to the welcome party date, we will announce pick-up times at the dock. If you are taking your golf cart over to the dock to hop on the Hope Town Inn shuttle, you can park your cart at Sunshine Park or the post office dock parking lot. There are usually available spots at both of these lots, but in the event they are full, you may park on the side of the main road between those two lots.

What is the attire?

For the welcome party Friday night, the attire is dressy casual. Think sundresses and khakis (or khaki shorts!) & a button down. The wedding attire is island formal - cocktail dresses and suits or sportcoat & khakis.

Is there a grocery store on the island?

Answer

Yes, Vernon's and LVA Convenience are both located on Elbow Cay. You can also stop in Marsh Harbour at Maxwell's on the way from the airport to the ferry dock if you want to grab provisions before getting to Hope Town.

I think I have all the logistics straight, but could you please spell it out for me?

Answer

We understand the logistics can be a little confusing so here is a breakdown: - Fly in to MHH - Taxi from MHH to the ferry docks (Taxis are usually waiting at airport. Stop at grocery store in MHH for less expensive provisions if you wish. There is also a grocery store in Hope Town). - Take ferry to Elbow Cay - Take golf cart from dock in Elbow Cay/Hope Town to where you are staying (golf cart company and/or place you are staying are usually willing to pick you up from the docks). - If staying at Hope Town Inn, call Aaron to arrange boat shuttle (direct line is (242) 357-6775).
