What do you do when you’re so convinced you can’t be with someone, you won’t even make eye contact with them? Not date them for over four years, that’s what. Erin and I met in August of 2017 and instantly had a spark (more like a volcano on steroids), but we were coworkers and basically thought it was illegal to even be friends (we’re very normal, don’t ask). Eventually we finally worked up to being “””””friends””””” and it was a friendship like no other. Intense. Passionate. We could just be our weird selves with each other. I’d come home from hanging out with her and have lost my voice from scream-singing and laughing. Our school librarian (who didn’t appreciate our noise level) begrudgingly nicknamed the Giggle Twins. We’d walk each other home and daydream about houses that we wanted to live in, “next to each other” with our “spouses.” But we both wanted the same thing– each other. Time went on, my health worsened, I had to move, and things got hard for us, but we didn't let go of each other. We had our ups and downs, and figured out how to communicate better. I spent some time in New York, she moved to Florida, things felt a little hopeless. Christmas of 2021, however, everything came together. We began dating and were blissfully in love, out loud this time. In May of 2023, I moved down to Florida and we started a beautiful life together, and in July we were joined by our sweet puppy Winnie! We’re so excited to take this next step together and can’t wait for you to join us as we do.
