Question

What should we expect at an Episcopal wedding?

Answer

Each Episcopal wedding looks a little bit different, and this one will too. Sam and MM are using "I Will Bless You, and You Will Be A Blessing," a rite (a religious service which expresses our relationship with God through words, actions, and symbols) which uses language that does not limit the love that exists in marriage to a man and a woman. Because God's love is so much bigger than that. And in the end, we understand marriage as taking the loving relationship between two people and offering it to God. God will then entrust us with that newly holy love for the purpose of mutual joy. The service will include many things which Episcopalians believe enhance our worship of God--the reading of scripture, music and singing, proclaiming the Word in preaching (our preacher is fire, y'all are not gonna want to miss it), the marriage, and the Eucharist.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

ABSOLUTELY! We couldn't be happier to celebrate with ALL of our friends and family. There will be fun activities at each event as well as kid-friendly food. Rumor has it, we might also need help decorating the cake...
