Airports

There are multiple airports in driving distance to Sonoma. Charles Schultz Airport in Santa Rosa is a small regional airport 40 minutes away San Francisco Airport is a large major airport 1 hr 15 min away with direct flights from most major East Coast cities. This is the airport that we use most frequently. Oakland and Sacramento Airports are both about 1 hr 15 min away as well, but have fewer direct flights.

Lodging

There are many different lodging options in Sonoma, including airbnbs, VRBO, boutique hotels, standard hotels, and luxury hotels. Particularly if you won't have a car in town, we suggest you book lodging near the Sonoma Plaza, where you can find ample places to wine and dine and are close to the wedding events. However if you don't mind a 10-15 minute drive, you can usually find less expensive Airbnbs in Boys Hot Springs, Glen Ellen, or Agua Caliente, all areas on the NW side of Sonoma. If you would prefer to stay in the neighboring town of Napa (~25 min away), we can arrange a discounted stay at the lovely Senza hotel, please reach out to MK, Will or Kathleen and we will set it up for you! We suggest you book your lodging ASAP, as May is a popular time for tourism in Sonoma. Sonoma hotels you might want to check out include... Walking distance from Sonoma Plaza (15 min or less): Best Western (its a really nice Best Western!), El Pueblo Inn, The Inn at Sonoma, An Inn to Remember, The Lodge at Sonoma (and many other boutique hotels, BnB's and cottage rentals) 10-15 min drive from Sonoma Plaza: Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn Outside of Sonoma - 20-30 min drive: Check out hotels in the towns of Glen Ellen, Petaluma, or Napa

Travel Note

Driving from airport to Sonoma

We recommend getting a rental car for the weekend so you can more easily explore the area, but you can also take Uber or Lyft from any of these airports to Sonoma (~$130 ride from SFO, SMF, or OAK). We recommend you coordinate travel to and from the airport with other guests. To facilitate sharing of rides, I created a googledoc where you can share your arrival and departure airport, date and time and let others know if you are interested in sharing a ride to or from the airport. Transport to Wedding on Saturday

We recommend guests Uber or Taxi to the wedding on Saturday. There is also ample parking at the venue and guests are welcome to leave their cars overnight and return to pick them up at anytime the next day.
