Adam and Marykate’s story begins 3 years ago when their friend Tori set them up on a (mostly) blind date. One dinner at The Daily Planet in Burlington, and they knew they had something special. Fast forward 3 years and they own a home in Hinesburg, Vermont and are planning their wedding! Adam grew up in Guilford, Connecticut with his parents and brother, Evan (also known as Scooter). He ventured to Massachusetts for college, attending Clark University in Worcester. After college, he moved on to spend time in Connecticut, New Hampshire, and California before settling down in Vermont. An accounting job at The Courtyard by Marriott brought him up to the green mountain state, which he soon decided to make his forever home. 10 years later and Adam continues to work at The Courtyard, as well as the company’s boutique hotel, Hotel Vermont. Adam loves to spend time outdoors in Vermont, and enjoyes camping, hiking, and canoeing year round. Marykate grew up in Norwell, MA with her parents and younger siblings, Roe and John. In 2007 she made the move to Vermont to attend Saint Michael’s College. After graduating in 2011, she decided to make Vermont her permanent home. She lived in Burlington and worked various jobs in education. In 2017, Marykate was offered a position as a first grade teacher, which she happily accepted! Marykate is also passionate about Vermont, and loves to go for bike rides, ski, and cook. Adam and Marykate love to travel and explore new places. Around the world, the country, and even their beautiful state of Vermont. One of their favorite weekend activities is driving around Vermont and exploring new towns. They enjoyed this so much, that they are challenging themselves to visit all 251 Vermont towns! One of their favorite quaint Vermont towns is Dorset. They enjoyed their time in Dorset so much, they wanted to celebrate their marriage with their friends and family there!
