We first met at the emergency department at Valley hospital. I was working as a scribe, and Auro was on rotation for medical school. I often scribed for students as Valley was a teaching hospital, so it was nothing out of the ordinary. Famously, I first thought Auro did not like me because usually the medical students liked to chat with me in addition to their work, but Auro was all business. I was able to break the ice with talks of his hometown Barstow and Del Taco. Months would pass until we actually were able to meet again. The week of our first date, Auro got his acceptance to his first choice residency which meant he would be moving hours way to Modesto. We both recognized early that our relationship was something special, and despite the distance we knew we both had found the one, and we were not going to give up. 3 years later, persevering through residency, starting and finishing nursing school, and moving to somewhere brand new, we are stronger than ever and ready to start our lives together once and for all. We are so blessed to be able to have you there to support us every step of the way.
