Another more budget-friendly hotel option that is approximately a 5-7 minute walk from either Hotel Kempinski or Hotel Gewandhaus, and is in a great central location to see all the main sights in Dresden. RATE: From approximately $110/night and includes breakfast

From Atlanta: There are no direct flights from to Dresden on any airline, but Lufthansa offers the most direct and MOST convenient option to Dresden with one stopover in Frankfurt (X→Frankfurt→Dresden). Lufthansa also offers other excellent flight options to other major cities all around Germany and Europe.

Delta Air Lines

For our Atlanta-based guests, if you are wanting to fly Delta, you can fly directly: Atlanta→Frankfurt or Atlanta→Munich, Then hop on a final flight to Dresden via Lufthansa. Delta unfortunately doesn't offer any flights to Dresden. Another option would be to take Delta all the way to Prague, then hop on a 2-hour train or bus to Dresden (more info below in Prague Airport section).

The closest airport to Dresden is the Dresden Airport and you can fly directly in via Frankfurt or Munich on Lufthansa. You can reach the Dresden city center in a little over 20 minutes from the airport. More info on local transport options, apps, and directions coming soon.

Direct Flights to Frankfurt from Atlanta (Delta or Lufthansa). Frankfurt offers the highest number of transport connections to Dresden, which is 4+ hours away by train or car.

Direct Flights from Atlanta (Delta), Istanbul (Pegasus), and Milan (Lufthansa). Flights from Munich→Dresden via Lufthansa. Munich is approximately 5± hours from Dresden.

Prague is 2± hours away from Dresden by train, Flixbus, or car, making it an excellent option to consider flying into and visiting. There are no direct flights to Prague from Atlanta, but you can go via JFK in New York→Prague on Delta. There are also numerous other direct flights to Prague you can find within Europe.

Please note: There is NO Uber, Lyft, or Bolt available in Dresden. You can instead download the "Taxi Deutschland" taxi app for Dresden, book your taxi there (also shows the nearest available taxis) and pay by credit card or PayPal.

Deutsche Bahn (DB) Train

You can book and take long-distance trains in and out of the Dresden Central Station / Dresden Hauptbahnhof (15-20 minute walk from the Old Town/Altstadt city center).
