Yes! The ceremony will be laid out in a pamphlet for each guest but if you are a non-Catholic and get confused, simply do as those around you. This will include standing, kneeling, sitting, and praying together. Please be respectful of our customs and participate. Unless you are unable, it is seen as disrespectful to sit while the congregation is kneeling. Thank you for your understanding, respect, and participation in our sacrament❤️
A Catholic ceremony can be a long time for young children to sit quietly. Please remember this is a religious ceremony that is recorded for us to look back on for years to come, so if your little one gets restless please feel comfortable to simply exit with your child to the front left or the back of the church. Along the back is a glass wall so you will still be able to see but if your child is loud please step outside or continue down the back steps to the cafeteria. Thank you for being respectful and allowing our recording to be audible so we may look back at our special day and hear the entire ceremony.
Yes, there is an open bar with beer and wine but the bartenders are working purely for tips.
The reception is held at a farm with a lot of land and two fire pits. It's probable that we will do a fire later in the evening, so you may want to bring a lawn chair if you decide to spend time outside.
Park on either side of the driveway in the grass. Be sure to leave space when parking in rows so others can get in and out (there won't be anyone telling you where to park and there aren't any lines to distinguish this so do your best 🙂). DO NOT drive past the barn! The septic is back there and could be damaged.
Food will be served promptly at the start of the reception before the wedding party arrives. We know 3pm is an odd time to eat but this way guests don't have to wait around for us before beginning the evening and you can enjoy your meal with a video we will be playing at the farm before our arrival.
