BumbleBee0809 - our WiFi password and the beginning of our love adventure. Prompted by my 5 most impressive photos and Bumble profile bio, Mary initiated a conversation - “fancy pickup lines not required? Game changer!”. My rebuttal, “I think I was put on this Earth to make your life easier.” Fast forward and we had our first date at the Tiki Hut on the Chicago Riverwalk where we enjoyed drinks and outdoor games. After a few Mai Thais, naturally flowing deep conversations about life and what we’re seeking from our beautiful time on this planet, and my undefeated performance in yard games, Mother Nature started showing signs of shedding tears at this potentially blossoming love. To take cover from the rain, we hustled down the riverwalk and found shelter beneath the Clark Street bridge. Reassuring Mary “I have a rain guy,” we found a break in the storm and darted over to Untitled Super Club. After 2 hours at Untitled, worn out from dancing, Mary waved down a cab and confidently grabbed me saying “I will see you again." And she did. We concluded our summer together, exploring Chicago’s culinary scene, dates in the park and a testimonial first trip together to Colorado. 1 year later we expanded our adventures to Spain & Portugal and became roommates in South Loop Chicago. A year or so after that we hit the road again, relocating to Raleigh, NC for new work opportunities and better weather.
John & Karen Schuster were visiting Asheville, North Carolina in October. Mary & I planned to meet them and I used this opportunity to accomplish our mutual dream of getting engaged in the mountains. We hiked to the top of Looking Glass Rock, Mary almost stepped on a snake getting distracted by the beautiful view, and I found the perfect spot to pop the question. We're now onto our next adventure, living in Austin, Texas. We are so thrilled to have you in our life and excited to celebrate our wedding day together. We’re beyond grateful to our family and friends, who have taught us how to love, adventure, pursue dreams and to always find the silver lining. With Love, Ryan & Mary
