Question

WHERE ARE THE CEREMONY AND RECEPTION TAKING PLACE?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will be held at The Farm at Old Edwards Inn in Highlands, North Carolina. The ceremony will be held indoors at the Orchard House. Following the ceremony guests will be guided through the courtyard to the Pavillion where cocktail hour and the reception will take place.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Answer

We ask that you celebrate in style with us in Garden Party attire! For the ladies - think spring/summery dresses of any length or whatever brings you joy. No white or off white colored clothing please. For the gentleman - suit jacket or sports coat with slacks or khakis. Tie optional. No shorts or blue jeans please. We want you to feel your best! The Ceremony and Reception will be indoors, with access to the outdoor courtyard. Whatever you wear, bring your dancing shoes!

WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE?

Answer

The ceremony will begin at 5:30 PM EST, please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the ceremony to sign our guest book and find your seat!

IS PARKING AVAILABLE AT THE VENUE?

Answer

Onsite parking is limited so we strongly encourage all guests to utilize the provided transportation. We'd like to reserve the available parking for our ~vintage~ guests and those with limited mobility. If you choose to drive to the venue, there is a parking lot that is close to the reception building, but down a flight of stairs. Those with mobility issues may be dropped off under the porte cochere at the main level. There will not be valet parking. Be aware, small quiet towns like Highlands has to find one way or another to keep their police department busy on Saturday nights.. If you find yourself unable to drive safely at the end of the night, vehicles may be left overnight and we will make sure you get where you are going, or at least close.

IS THERE A SHUTTLE TO AND FROM THE CEREMONY?

WHERE DOES THE SHUTTLE PICK GUESTS UP FROM?

Answer

The shuttle will provide round trip transportation from 2 pick-up/drop-off locations - 16 Church Street in front of Old Edwards Spa and 200 Main on Main St. If you decide to stay at another hotel near there you can meet at one of those pick up spots and get on the shuttle. There are multiple lodging options within a 3 to 8 minute walk of one of the two shuttle stops.

IS THERE UBER, LYFT OR TAXI?

Answer

Unfortunately, rideshare services are unreliable in Highlands. We recommend staying on Main St. or within walking distance to a shuttle stop if you plan to take advantage of the open bar! If you are looking for another mode of transportation, you may also contact Highlands Ride Service to arrange a taxi reservation.

CAN I TAKE PICTURES?

Answer

We are having an "unplugged" ceremony. We ask that all phones and devices be put away and on silent during the ceremony. We have hired an amazing professional photographer and videographer to capture one of the most important moments of our lives. After the ceremony, feel free to take as many photos as you want! And we promise to share the ceremony photos as soon as we get them.
