A New England style Oyster Bar in the heart of historic downtown that has taken the Charleston food scene by storm. By far our favorite restaurant in town with the freshest seafood- the crudo, ceviche, the tuna burger and the V10 shooter are some must try items on the menu. Be forewarned- this walk-in only restaurant is well worth the wait!
One of the Southeast's most critically acclaimed restaurants and the epitome of “Southern Hospitality.” Husk is tucked into a quiet stretch of Queen Street and is known for it’s southern-style cuisine. The Battery is a defensive seawall and promenade located lower shores of the Charleston peninsula where the Ashley and Cooper Rivers meet to form Charleston harbor. It’s an easy stroll along the water with views of Patel-hued, stately antebellum homes. The battery ends ends at White Point Garden, a beautiful park shaded by large, Spanish moss covered oak trees.
After walking along the Battery and Rainbow Row, stop at the Vendue for a drink at their roof top bar, and head to the Pineapple Fountain a few steps away. It’s a focal point of Waterfront Park with views of the Cooper River and the Ravenel Bridge.
One of America’s oldest public markets- it has been in Charleston since the 1790s! This 4-block long market displays handmade goods from local artisans, especially Gullah sweetgrass baskets which are one of the nation's oldest and most beautiful handicrafts of African origin. These baskets are truly works of art!
Located on Johns Island is the Southern Live Oak tree, which is the largest Live Oak Tree east of the Mississippi (estimating to be 300 to 400 years old). The tree is 65 feet high with a circumference of 25.5 feet, shading an area of 17,000 square feet.
The closest beach to downtown Charleston with a quaint, laidback vibe. If you end up heading this way check out the eastern end of the island for views of the Morris Island Lighthouse, fish on the pier, grab a drink at beachside bar of the Tides, rent paddle boards or just kick back and relax on the beach!
