Mary took a travel nursing contract in the quaint adventure town of Marquette, MI. Her friend came to visit one weekend, and the two of them went to St. Peter’s Cathedral for Sunday Mass. Her friend, more outgoing than your average Joe, took note of a stranger’s carabiner hooked on his belt-loop holding his car keys during Mass. “That’s the thing that rock climbers use,” she thought, and then, “I think Mary would have something in common with this guy.” Mary and her friend went into the Chapel to pray after Mass. Carabiner guy was kneeling in prayer at the front, while Mary and her friend took a seat in the back. Her friend looked around, “Do you have a pen and paper?” she whispers to Mary. A stranger in the pew behind them tore a page from her journal and handed her a pen. Mary's friend scribbled a short message on the piece of paper: “Kind Stranger, my dear friend Mary is new to the area, and she loves the Lord. You should call her,” with her phone number on the bottom. Carabiner guy was me, Joseph, and we met the very next night for tea.
