YEAR WE MET: 2007 SPECIAL MEMORY: Mary is the best for many reasons. One example is that she'll drive by a vegan bakery for me while on a weekend away and come back with the $150 worth of vegan treats I ordered online so I can comfort myself with cake during a pandemic. :-)
Maid of Honor
YEAR WE MET: 1971 SPECIAL MEMORY: I had a perfect birthing plan. It was a month before Lily Mae was due when I started contractions. Went to the hospital where they told me that it would be a while as it is your first baby. There were no rooms available. While I was waiting I felt her coming. No one believed me. I gave birth on a gurney in the hallway with dozens of people around. Nothing in the "birthing plan." My focal point was your face - Apparently with a perfect view. Your face moved through so many expressions especially after she was born and they delivered the placenta. The horror and fear on your face! You were there the second I became a Mom and you have been there for Lily Mae, and all my kids from day one creating memories that I am sure they will treasure.
Mother of the Bride
YEAR WE MET: 1969 SPECIAL MEMORY: My memories for over 50 years are overwhelming. I have loved, worried, laughed with you. They are too many to write. Know they are always in my mind and heart.
Father of the Bride
YEAR WE MET: 1969 SPECIAL MEMORY: All the adventures and trips for Father's Days and other celebrations - Toy Museum in Connecticut, Huge Statue Garden in New Jersey, Food Truck Rally, in Park Slope Taking a "Limo" to the Casino, Peddler's Village, Boston, Sweet 16 dancing with you to "Daddy's Little Girl".

YEAR WE MET: 2007 SPECIAL MEMORY: A funny/nice memory was Mary's 40th birthday in New Orleans. It started the first day with an electrical short at our bed-and-breakfast. But we made the best of it by taking pictures with the extremely good looking firemen that showed up. Also during that trip, being the party animals that we are, we snuck into our room so our host wouldn’t know how early we were turning in. During this trip I was introduced to beignets & Mary took us on a self guided tour of the cemetery. So many great memories we have together. Looking forward to making many more in the future!

YEAR WE MET: 1991 SPECIAL MEMORY: So many memories but one of my favorites is the trip to New Orleans for your Birthday. Not the planning you did of all the activities you wanted wanted or how I fell the first day and badly scraped my wrist (still have a scar) but MY favorite is every time we went out to eat, it was very tough for me, or anyone who doesn’t eat seafood or spicy stuff. After asking if each item was “spicy” and cutting out anything in the seafood family, I would order (from the kids menu) pasta with butter. One of the waiters said, well if you don’t like any spice on your food or seafood, WHY would you come to New Orleans on vacation. My answer (easy) “Because it’s Mary”

YEAR WE MET: 2010 SPECIAL MEMORY: We met in 2010 at Mary's game night in Park Slope. That’s when we found out I went to school with her sister and our moms worked with each other at the Aquarium!

YEAR WE MET: 1994 SPECIAL MEMORY: From sharing a brain in physics class at Brooklyn College to birthdays galore. Heart to heart talks, fun parties, vacations, long car rides and so much more! I love you and cherish the friendship we share. I'm so glad you "picked me up" my very special Mare Mare!

YEAR WE MET: 1999 SPECIAL MEMORY: I first met my aunt technically the day I was born as she watched it happen but I didn't really meet her until I was a teenager. We became more than aunt and niece - we became friends. Going on all sorts of adventures from living together in Coney Island, virtual time during COVID and even traveling to France together. She is one of my best friends and there is no one memory that can encompass that.

YEAR WE MET: 2001 SPECIAL MEMORY: I know I don’t fully remember this story but I know a lot of people can’t forget. When I was about 2-4 years old I was being watched by my aunt mar mar and uncle aj with about 8 more adults watching and playing at Coney Island beach. So my little self wandered 3 “beaches” down with nobody seeing. I was gone for about an hour before a male couple came up and handed me to the life guards then to my aunt. Oh boy what a fun day lmao

YEAR WE MET: 1979 SPECIAL MEMORY: Picking a special memory that I have with my sister is a hard one. There are so many different ones that we have had over the years yet they all kinda seem to merge together. That’s because damn near every memory I have with Mary I see her always smiling, and if she is not smiling she is busting her but to make sure that everyone else is smiling. Mary you are one of the most caring and loving people on the planet. I have especially seen it in all the wonderful memories that we all have with Lily, Emma, and Cullen. I can’t wait to hear all about the amazing memories that you create with Dominick and your god son Trey.

YEAR WE MET: 2013 SPECIAL MEMORY: One special memory I have with Mary is my bachelorette party. She got me a cupcake from a vending machine (which was really cool) and then we went to a really cool spa. Since we both enjoy naps, we both took naps in the meditation room before going on a party ship! That day was so much fun!! Thank Mar Mar Another fun memory is we all (AJ, Mary, Syndi, Marcella, and a few ) would go to Schnitzel Haus (pre Covid). We would sing, hang out and drink. Well Mary was drunk and I was dressed up- Mary decided to “motor boat” me in front of AJ. I couldn’t help but to laugh cuz I thought it was funny 😂 Mary and I have our type of silliness 🤣

YEAR WE MET: 1980 SPECIAL MEMORY: Mary, I have so many stories to share - it's hard to pick just one. I'm grateful that we have such a long and meaningful history together. The story that stands out to me right now was a few years back - about 30 - I was in Fire Island and you were in Brooklyn. I said "Mary, I need you. Come now." And you did. You took trains, buses and ferries and then there you were! That's a friend. That's loyalty. That's love. And, that's Mary. Love you Moffy. Always.

YEAR WE MET: 1984 SPECIAL MEMORY: I remember you in high school trying to make everyone's birthday a very special day in the locker bay. You worked hard to make each person feel special. This culminated in my "infamous" Sweet 16 where you invited me, Marc Greenberg and a bunch of other girls from the locker bay to Jennifer Marrone's backyard to super size my special day. You may not have been "the life of any party" but without you, many times, for many people, there would have been no party to give life to. Thanks for always trying to make things more fun in the only way you know how, trying to make the other person feel special. This makes you an especially special person to me. Love you Mary and so happy to be able to celebrate this special day with you and Dwain!

YEAR WE MET: 1978 SPECIAL MEMORY: So many memories. Hard to choose - - Luna Park, antics with Darlene, fun times exploring the city...but most profoundly was the beginnings of POGO Events. It started off as an idea to feed into 4 friends' creativity, and Mary turned it into a true business. Her drive, perseverance and reinvention over the years has been unparalleled. It's a wonderful embodiment of who Mary is.

YEAR WE MET: 2007 SPECIAL MEMORY: First memory was coming in to interview for the apt. I met you and loved you immediately. It didn't hurt that your apartment was INCREDIBLE. But, I was so excited. I felt that you loved me, too!! AND YOU DID!!! At least that's what I thought - until months later when I found out I was FIFTH on your choice of roomies!! And then of course that first day I moved in and we went to, this was foreshadowing, Bogota Restaurant. And on the way there either you asked me or I asked you to complete the following lyric: "Let's Bowl, Let's Bowl"... and our friendship began right there.
Flower Girl
YEAR WE MET: 2016 SPECIAL MEMORY: Freeze dance parties and being girly with manicures and makeovers!

YEAR WE MET: Dwain (1981), Mary (2019) SPECIAL MEMORY: I thought Mary would take my dad away, but what a blessing in disguise. Found my new mom, even though she can’t get used to it. Love you.

YEAR WE MET: 2019 SPECIAL MEMORY: Mary! One of the most special Mary moments for me was Thanksgiving. The food was plentiful and delicious. I remember gorging like a bear about to go into hibernation (Mary always makes sure guests are well-fed). Sitting there with a happy belly, I thought lucky ole Dwain sure found himself a great lady who makes sure he’s loved and cared for (and stuffed). I also thought Autumn and I have a great lady we can consider as close as family. When you’re with Mary, you’re family! <3
Ring Bearer
YEAR WE MET: 2013 SPECIAL MEMORY: A memorable story that I have with Aunt Mar Mar is when we went trick or treating together. She met up with me and my parents. It was super fun. We both rang doorbells and trick or treated together- she wore my Darth Vader mask and we had fun together :)
Flower Child
YEAR WE MET: 2010 SPECIAL MEMORY: My favorite memory Auntie Mar Mar was her parties like gingerbread making, Christmas and picnics. Gift snatching was also great. Aunt Mar Mar likes to always have fun and so do I!
