Please RSVP by 20 January 2025. If you know earlier, that's even better :)
Go to the RSVP tab at the top of our website and follow the instructions listed.
We recommend flying into Raleigh/Durham Airport (RDU), which is a 10-minute drive from central Durham. This is also the most convenient place to rent a car.
If you are staying for the whole weekend, we recommend it. If you cannot rent a car, Lyfts/Ubers are available but are spotty and not always the most reliable. Durham has a cab service called Bull City Cab that can be reached at 919-477-7777.
If you've rented a car, driving to and from the venues is easiest. Parking is available at both sites. If you are unable to rent a car, you can use Lyft/Uber or a Durham taxi service (see above).
We have listed a few hotels in the "Hotels" tab. For the most convenient option, we recommend the Hilton Garden Inn Durham/University Medical Center. There are cuter options also listed in Durham's city center. We recommend staying in Durham. Durham is 10 minutes from the airport and it's closest to the various venues.
We have two events on Saturday and an optional brunch on Sunday morning. Refer to the weekend schedule for more details.
For the wedding ceremony and lunch, we are encouraging Indian or South Asian outfits. For women, this could be a salwar kameez, a sari, or a co-ord set. For men, this could be a long kurta with trousers or a short kurta with a vest and trousers. If you're more keen on Western attire, the dress code is cocktail for both Saturday events. Choose what feels most comfortable and exciting for you! For the Soirée, you can stay in your wedding outfit if you wish, however we (Maryam and Faadhil) will be changing into something a bit more dance-friendly so feel free to do so as well. Your choice!
UPDATED LIST: Feel free to consult with either of us on details about this! A few places we recommend are: Andaaz Fashion (great value, and they'll make it to measure) Lashkaraa (great value!) Ogaan (pricey!) Maria B (mid-range) Mor Collections (Indo-Western and therefore re-wearable for non-Indian occasions)
The weather will likely be hot in the day and cooler at night. Plan for around 80F (26C) in the daytime and 50F (10C) at night. The ceremony will be outdoors (weather permitting) so bring your sunscreen and sunglasses!
We would love to share this personal moment with you without distractions. Our photographer will capture everything we need. Please avoid taking photos or videos until after the ceremony is over.
The ceremony and lunch will be over by 3:30pm. Everyone is welcome and warmly invited to a Soirée at Parizade at 7:30pm. There will be music, a combination of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, heavy hors d'oeuvres and dancing.
