It all started a few months into me joining the Ophthalmology department at Novartis, where Garrett had been working for a few years. He was incredibly handsome in a lab coat, so after he grabbed the bill for drinks with co-workers one day, I sent him a flirtatious comment with my Venmo to him. My subtle hint paid off and he asked me on a date to a comedy show, which was fun in itself, but we both remember most how easy it was spending time with each other right off the bat

We planned a weekend trip where we were going to hike and enjoy one of our favorite areas of New Hampshire - North Conway. I knew a proposal *might* be happening at some point in the year, so every trip or special outing came with an anticipatory feeling. Friday night of this trip had come and gone, so I figured if he hadn’t done it yet, then maybe this wasn’t the time. Saturday comes and we hiked a nearby mountain with our dogs, Ruby and Uma, and we had the whole trail and peak to ourselves! At the top of every mountain we hike, I always set up a video so we can pose and screenshot a picture of us all (if you have dogs, try it because it makes it so much easier to get a pic!). Garrett took this opportunity to get down on one knee, and I was absolutely in shock and of course said yes! We have the best video now of the proposal with the girls looking on wondering what is going on (see picture below). One of the best parts to the story is Garrett’s last surprise - he secretly invited my parents up and they were waiting back at the AirBnb with champagne, ready to celebrate with us! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in New York!
