Honorary Matron of Honor
Alicia is Mary's farthest back bestie. They met when Mary was 11 and Alicia was 12, through the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, a girls youth leadership organization. Mary takes credit for introducing Alicia to her husband Glenn, who was Mary's neighbor in high school (pat on the back for that one). Alicia is the one Mary trusts to always shoot straight with her, and Mary loves her for that. From SNL impersonations, to choir practice, hoop skirts and lots of tea, Alicia is more Mary's sister than friend. Unfortunately Alicia won't be able to make it to Guatemala, but she will be with us in spirit. Alicia will be deeply missed, but has been here every step of the way. xoxoxo
Maid of Honor
Nikhita is Mary's lil' sis' and this will be her first time traveling outside the US, so they are both very excited. Mary was eight-and-a-half, and beyond thrilled, when Nikhita entered the world, at home, on an exciting evening in 1991. Mary helped her parents take care of Nikhita, and as a teenager, Nikhita lived and traveled with Mary throughout the US, from Marine base to Marine base, and beyond. Thankfully, as adults, they are free to just be sisters, and friends. Mary is super excited to be sharing such a special experience with her very special sister who she loves so much. xoxoxo
Bridesmaid
Marissa is Mary's daughter. For the first half of her life it was just the two of them, until, when Marissa was seven, Mary met Andrés, and the family dynamic was forever changed. Marissa has served as inspiration and motivation for Mary to push through hardships and prevail over less-than-ideal circumstances, and has taught both Mary and Andrés many lessons on love. This wedding would not be complete without Marissa walking down the aisle, signifying the wholeness of their family, and ushering in the next phase in their journey of expansion. xoxoxo
Bridesmaid
Emerald is one of Mary's very closest cousins. Mary spent a lot of time with Emerald and her sister Naomi, as a child, and Emerald and Mary often antagonized one another. Mary and Emerald have become close friends over the years and as teenagers, they switched hair color, and looked so much alike that their grandmother didn't know who was who. Now Mary is trying to convince Emerald to come to school at OCOM! Mary is so excited and thankful that Emerald is traveling to Antigua to share this moment with her. xoxoxo
Best Man
Santiago and Andres go waaaay back...cause they're brothers. They were there for one another as children, through the crazy violence in Colombia. They helped each other as teenagers, through the journey to the U.S. And they've grown alongside each other as men, building careers and family. Andres is excited to have Santiago standing beside him, once more, as he opens a new chapter of his life.
Groomsman
Andres and Theo met in medical school, and being two crazy mo fo's, they naturally hit it off. Now they are both friends and colleagues, working together to build Samasta Global Health Foundation, and slipping in the occasional adventure along the way. The last time that Andres and Theo were in Antigua...well...just ask them about "papa shmash."
Groomsman
Andres and Beha also met in medical school, and Beha has also devoted his valuable time to building up Samasta Global Health Foundation, and treating patients in Guatemala, Haiti, Nepal and Colombia. Andres, Theo and Beha are like birds of a feather...crazy, wild, adventurous and hard working. There is never a dull moment with these three around. The last time that Andres and Beha were in Antigua (which was also the last time that Andres and Theo were in Antigua) it was "que rico..."
