Like most couples nowadays, they met online through OK Cupid. Maricel was on the verge of deleting the app, when fate would have it; Marvin shot his shot with Maricel. Low and behold, she enjoyed his corny pick up line. After hours of making fun of each other, it was time for them to meet up in person. At first, it was difficult for them to come to an agreement. Marvin wanted to take her out for cheap drinks, but Maricel had a more expensive idea, so she called him out on his frugal ass and suggested Korean BBQ instead. On their first date, Marvin liked how pretty, smart, and witty Maricel was and she liked his Jersey City swag, his quirkiness, and chivalrous side. They both shared a lot of common interests. They both enjoyed traveling, fitness, and being around close friends and family. After bonding over grilled meat and bowls of rice, they wanted to see each other the next day and the rest is history.
Fast forward five years, Marvin was celebrating his 30th birthday back home in Jersey City with close family and friends. After he blew out his candles, he showed everyone just what he wished for, by getting down on one knee and asking the love of his life for her hand in marriage. After years of her saying she "ovaled" him, Marvin pulled out an oval ring and she said "yes". They kissed, hugged, and uglied cried as they danced to one of their favorite songs, "Until I found her" by Stephen Sanchez.
