As many of our guests will be traveling from sea level we wanted to have information about the elevation for everyone to be comfortable and safe when visiting Santa Fe. Santa Fe is 7200 ft or 2194 meters above sea level, or 1.364 miles above sea level. For some perspective, Denver is 1 mile above sea level. With higher elevations hydration is extremely important! Please always have water with you and try not to do too much strenuous activity until you feel better acclimated to the climate.
The biggest airport in New Mexico is the Albuquerque Sunport. Santa Fe does have a regional airport with flights from several major cities, most individuals will need to make a connection. Below is the Santa Fe airport website if you are interested: https://flysantafe.com/ However we would recommend flying into the Albuquerque International Sunport, there are many flights daily and all big airlines, Southwest, United, Delta, and American Airlines, fly to Albuquerque. The Albuquerque Sunport website is below if you are interested: https://www.abqsunport.com/wherewefly/ If you live in Colorado, it's about a 5 to 6-hour drive from Denver to Santa Fe. There are a few ways to get there from Denver, you can take the I-25 if you want a quick straight shot south. James recommends taking route 285 from Denver if you want a more scenic drive and stopping at Great Sand Dunes National Park. There are multiple dead spots on both I-25 and Route 285 for cell phone coverage, as a heads up.
Once you arrive in the land of enchantment, there are few ways to get to the Mystic. If you want to explore the Land of Enchantment outside of our wedding, we'd recommend renting a car. From the Sunport, just hop on I-25 north and head to Santa Fe. The mystic is about 62 miles, 100 km for James' international friends, away from the Sunport. James' helpful tips: New Mexico driving is an interesting driving experience. There is both city driving as well as highways. If you are driving in Albuquerque, be sure to use the Albuquerque green light method; look both ways before you start driving. People run red lights very frequently in the city. Some other options that don't include a rental car are the Groome Transportation shuttle and the Rail Runner train. You will need to book these ahead of time we have provided links below. In the worst-case scenario, Uber and Lyft are very common in Albuquerque and will be able to take you from the Sunport to Santa Fe. There is no strict dress code for the wedding, however, we would suggest a semi-formal with whatever will make you comfortable. Our ceremony and reception will be outside, with only a small amount of shade in the evening. There is a cafe and bar on the premises where the after party will be held.
Please try and have your RSVP in by the end of March. This will help us get a headcount for the carter.
You can register through our website here, if you go to the RSVP section of the website and search your name.
While we do love all our friends and family who have children, we have elected to limit our ceremony and reception to adults only. We care for children's safety and the venue is not suited for children. We may have more information soon about alternatives for children if you are still interested with bring them with you to NM!
