By January 7th. 2026.
We will be arriving Wednesday, March 4th, and departing Monday, March 9th. Feel free to join us during any of that time frame (the longer, the better!) Because our big day will be all DIY, we will need help with setup, as well as cleanup the day after- if you'd like to assist with anything, we would be forever grateful!
Feel free to book any nearby accommodation (check out our travel page for more info) but if you want to stay close to the action and the drinks, camp with us @ the Love Shack!
Friday's dinner and Saturday's Reception dinner will be provided for all. Anyone arriving Thursday is invited to join us for dinner at Pappy & Harriet's. We will also provide some cold breakfast foods for Saturday morning. If you need assistance/recommendations for food planning/restaurants in the area, please reach out!
If your invite says "+1," then yes- bring your favorite human! If it doesn't, we'd love to party with just you (but promise to seat you near fun people!)
As much as we love your tiny humans, this party is for grown-ups... but we fully expect some childish behavior from our adult guests!
First of all, you all know that Katie LOVES dogs... that being said- if you are camping with us at the Love Shack and plan on bringing your pup, we ask that all dogs remain leashed at all times, as well as left safely inside your travel vehicle during our wedding festivities. Our dog, Tori, will be present for our wedding festivities.
Johnson Valley is the high desert- meaning the weather can change at a moment's notice. And while you won't find us doing any rain dances prior to our big day, March weather can range from sunny days to potential wind or rain, and cold nights. Please check the weather prior to your arrival, but plan on bringing some warm clothes including a winter jacket, and maybe a blanket to enjoy the campfire.
Your party pants (duh!) Dress code is "Desert Dressy Causal"- dresses, jumpsuits, slacks, nice jeans, button ups, and flannels are all acceptable. You will be on hard packed sand, so wear comfortable shoes. Make sure to check the weather prior and bring a warm jacket! The desert gets cold at night!
A 4x4 is not required (unless attending our Thursday trail ride,) but a sense of humor and some decent suspension helps! But seriously- normal cars will be fine, just go easy on the gas pedal.
Besides your stellar dance moves, you may want to bring a camping/folding chair if you'd like to enjoy the bonfire in comfort, a blanket, and some comfy/warm clothes to change into. We'll make sure to provide the snacks, drinks, and GREAT times!
Camping, Friday's dinner, & the Reception will all take place @ the Love Shack (shout out to Mike & Janelle Johnson, the rad owners of the property!.) The Love Shack is on 5 acres of hard packed dirt, adjacent to a grated dirt road off Highway 247. The Ceremony will take place at a separate property, less than 10 minutes down the road. Both properties are private properties owned by family & friends, so we'd like to extend a huge THANK YOU you to them, and ask that everyone is respectful of both properties. Please check the schedule page for addresses. If you have any other question, feel free to reach out!
