Alloway
The wedding venue is situated in Alloway which is the birthplace of Scotland's most famous poet, Rabbie Burns. The town celebrates his life with many attractions, including the Robert Burns Museum, the Burns Monument and Memorial Gardens.
Ayrshire
Culzean Castle and Country Park, run by the National Trust for Scotland, includes a walled garden, an adventure cove and wild woodland. The Castle, situated on the Ayrshire Cliffs, boasts stunning views of Croy Beach and the Isle of Arran.
Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum
Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is a favorite for visitors. It has stunning architecture and a family friendly atmosphere. It has 22 galleries and includes everything from art to animals, Ancient Egypt to Charles Rennie Mackintosh. It also hosts the Salvador Dali masterpiece 'Christ of St John of the Cross.' (All museums in Scotland are free!)
Botanic Gardens and Kelvingrove Park
Located in the West End of Glasgow and featuring a wide variety of fauna housed in several glass houses. It is situated in Kelvingrove Park and on the banks of the River Kelvin.
Buchanan Street Glasgow
One of the main shopping thoroughfares in Glasgow - Pedestrianized lined with sleek shopping centres, high end stores, and top restaurants. You will also be entertained by a variety of talented buskers!
Edinburgh
The capital city of Scotland is a must see for visitors. Amongst its many attractions are the Seat of the Scottish Government, Hollyroodhouse (the Queen's Scottish residence), and the iconic Edinburgh Castle, to name a few. The Medieval Old Town is picturesque and full of history. Harry Potter fans can visit the Elephant House Cafe where J.K. Rowling wrote the famous books.
Edinburgh International Festival and Fringe
The annual festival takes place from August 6th - 28th in Edinburgh's six major theaters and concert halls with music, theater, opera, and dance. At the same time, the Edinburgh Military Tattoo takes place on the Castle Esplanade and is a celebration of the skills and talents of military bands and display teams from the British Armed Forces.
Loch Lomond
For the more outdoorsy guests, Loch Lomond, to the north of Glasgow, is one of Scotland's finest boating and water sport venues. Second in size to Loch Ness but unfortunately no mythical creature. Situated on the eastern shore of Loch Lomond is Ben Lomond, the most southern of the 282 Munros (mountain ranges) in Scotland. Alternatively, you can join the West Highland Way, a trail which runs from Milngavie in the north of Glasgow to Fort William in the Scottish Highlands (96 miles long).
