Airport Recommendations

Durango-La Plata County Airport (DRO) The closest airport to town (just 20 minutes away!) and definitely the most convenient option. Flights can be limited and sometimes a bit pricey, so we recommend booking early if you can. Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ) About a 3.5-hour drive from Durango, Albuquerque offers many more direct flights and often lower fares. Montrose Regional Airport (MTJ) Roughly 3 hours from Durango, Montrose could be a good option if you are considering extending your trip and exploring the other towns in the San Juan Mountains (Silverton, Ouray, or Telluride). It's a smaller airport with few direct flight options but a beautiful drive along the Million Dollar Highway to Durango.

Lodging Recommendations

Vacation Rentals (Airbnb/VRBO) There are a number of vacation rentals in the Durango area, especially out towards the location of the wedding and reception. We'd recommend booking early to ensure you find a spot! Recommended Hotels in Durango Most of the major hotel brands have a property in-town in Durango. Again, we'd recommend booking early to secure a stay at the best price and your preferred location. Camping If you have an RV or Camper Van, we have a number of spots available to stay at Chris Park Campground for Friday and Saturday night. We've already paid for the spot, so you just have to supply the rig! Please let Gavin and Becca know if you are interested in this option: 512-718-0409!

Rental Car Recommendations

Airport Rental Car Locations Most of the major car rental companies have locations at DRO, ABQ, and MTJ airports. Enterprise, Alamo, Budget, Avis, and Hertz have locations at these airports. Turo If you're open to it, you can rent a car (potentially a little more affordably) through Turo. This is essentially like Airbnb for your car! Sounds a little wild, but Gavin and Becca recommend it for saving a little money.

Travel Around Durango

Rental Car The surest bet for getting around Durango is to have your own vehicle. We'd recommend getting a rental car, especially if you are at an Airbnb outside of town, or are wanting to explore the area. Uber/Lyft We do not recommend relying on Uber or Lyft to get around town. We have had success using it a few times, but there are not that many drivers. If you are using it, make sure to have a back-up!
