Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad
Step back in time aboard this historic steam train as it winds through the breathtaking San Juan Mountains between Durango and Silverton. You'll ride to Silverton, hop off and explore the shops and restaurants, grabbing lunch and then ride back to Durango. The ride offers beautiful views of canyons, waterfalls, and golden aspens in the fall. This is a full day adventure!

Million Dollar Highway Loop
Drive one of America's most stunning mountain routes. This loop takes you along the dramatic Million Dollar Highway through the mountain towns of Silverton, Ouray, Ridgway, Telluride, and back to Durango. You can technically do this in one day, but we'd recommend taking at least two to enjoy the towns along the way!
Hikes Around Durango
A few hikes that we'd recommend in the area are: The Colorado Trail at Junction Creek , Horse Gulch, Sky Steps (short hike, but lots of stairs, comes to a great view of Durango!), Potato Lake Trail (short hike with rewarding mountain lake view!). All of these except Potato Lake are a short drive from downtown Durango or can be accessed from downtown.
