Is this happening indoors? Outdoors? What kind of weather can I expect?

Answer

The ceremony will be outdoors, on a brick surface. Cocktail hour is indoors/outdoors, with a brick patio and lawn games (thus, grass). The reception is indoors. As is true in many place these days, spring in Williamsburg pinballs between chilly and summer. Check your weather app of choice regularly and pack layers!

What if it rains?

We move the ceremony into the reception site. Make sure we have your email address to get updates!

Where should I park?

Answer

There is a lot and a parking structure right next to the reception venue. Signage says this is two hour parking, but we have been told by the person at the venue that tickets are not issued when the building is rented for events like weddings. Just go across the street for the ceremony.

Are there any weird alcohol restrictions?

Answer

Why yes, thanks for asking! As soon as you take a drink onto the grass in front of the building, it becomes drinking in public. Please keep all drinks inside or on the brick patio. We’ll have a place to set your drink while you partake in lawn games, if you find yourself absolutely needing to play a round of corn hole mid-beer.

Will the traffic on 95 really be as bad as you say?

Answer

Yes. A thousand times, yes. Please give yourselves lots of time. Unless you are driving in the middle of the night, count on there being traffic. LOTS OF TRAFFIC.

Is Zola the only place you’re registered?

Answer

No, they just make their registry very prominent on the website! We are also registered at Crate & Barrel and IKEA, and have listed a few causes we’d like to support in the text section at the top of the Zola registry page, if you’d like to make a charitable contribution in our honor.

Should I bring my gift to the wedding?

Answer

Please don’t! We are driving in one car and won’t have a lot of extra space. We’ll have a place to leave cards, but anything larger can be shipped to us directly.
