Yes! This is a formal, black-tie optional event. Formal wear for ladies may include formal gowns, floor-length or midi-length dresses. Formal wear for gentlemen may include a tuxedo or traditional suit with a tie.
No, guests are responsible for their own transportation to and from the ceremony venue, which is a quick 20-minute drive from Portsmouth, NH. It is strongly recommended to *avoid* utilizing ride-share apps (like Uber) as they are rarely available for pick-up in York, ME for the return trip to Portsmouth, NH once the ceremony concludes. As a reminder, the reception venue is walkable from all hotels listed on the 'travel' tab on this website.
CEREMONY — With over 200 guests expected, it is recommended to arrive at First Parish Church by 4:00pm to allow yourself time to park and find a seat. The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30pm. RECEPTION — Cocktail hour will begin promptly at 6:00pm at Jimmy's Jazz & Blues Club.
CEREMONY — Free parking is available along the street in front and behind of First Parish Church, located at 180 York St, York, ME. RECEPTION — In addition to hotel parking, there are several public parking options available within walking distance of Jimmy's Jazz & Blues Club. This includes Hanover Garage (2 Hanover St, Portsmouth, NH), Foundry Place Garage (100 Foundry Pl, Portsmouth, NH), Bridge Street Lot (40 Bridge St, Portsmouth, NH), & Worth Lot (25 Maplewood Ave, Portsmouth, NH) which is directly behind Jimmy’s Jazz & Blues Club, with reserved handicap parking available.
Both the ceremony and reception will be indoors, so no need to stress about the weather!
