Officiant
Every time he pet-sat, Chris wrote an 18th/19th-century epistolary novel(?) about our pets on Facebook. This, and this alone, is why he is perfectly suited to officiate any ceremony.
Maid of Honor
Cassandra's Daughter and Partner in Crime
Bridesmaid
Cassandra's best mate of nearly 35 years. After long nights of dancing and drinking at live Nashville shows, Jenny used to chase her around with a cheeseburger to make her eat.
Bridesmaid
Kim is Cassandra's future sister-in-law.
Bridesmaid
Jenna is Cassandra's future sister-in-law.
Bridesmaid
Cassandra's California Soul Sister
Bridesmaid
Lara is the only person that Cassandra knows who can make her belly laugh without saying a word.
Bridesmaid
Cassandra's adopted Reno Daughter.
Bridesmaid
Terra is such a beautiful and shiny-souled human. I’m grateful that she will be joining us!
Best Man
I've known John since high school. We kept in touch throughout college and undergrad, across the Midwest and his being the only one with a car to make the road trips to come visit. I was best man at his wedding, a decision he regrets powerfully (because of the toast, of course). I am godfather to his and his wife Cait's child. I love this man as a brother.
Groomsman
I've known Rob since high school. We went to St. Louis University together and were somehow placed in dorm rooms next door to each other as a fluke. Instead of talking to each other in person, we would use the chat feature on our computers (remember AIM?); whenever one of us said/wrote something funny, the other one would hit the wall with his fist repeatedly in affirmation.
Groomsman
Michael was the owner of a wine bar Cassandra and I frequented when we first moved to Reno. She and I moved out here without a car and very little money to our names. Michael was the first friend we made out here, and he has always been there for us, often in interesting capacities. For instance, we currently own his old car (an act of kindness from him when he knew we'd been riding the bus for 8 months).
Groomsman
Joseph is Cassandra's boo.
Groomsman
Clay is Marshall's future brother-in-law. He's already unhappy about it.
Groomsman
Jonathan is a firefighter-poet who used to be in the military, plays guitar, and sings. Ladies, what more do you want?
Groomsman
Marshall and Cassandra met Justin at UNR. Justin and Marshall are capable of having arguments about the Patriots and Broncos that they both win and lose simultaneously.
Groomsman
The fact that Marshall started playing music in front of people again is entirely Dashel's fault. We're not kidding when we call him inspirational.
Father of the Bride
Larry is Cassandra's father. He introduced Marshall as his son-in-law several months before the engagement, so I guess he's fine with this.
Mother of the Bride
Helen is Cassandra's mother and Marshall's future mother-in-law. She's okay with all of this.
Father of the Groom
Dan is Marshall's father and Cassandra's future father-in-law. So much of what Marshall knows, he learned from Dan, so really, anything Marshall does wrong is Dan's fault.
Mother of the Groom
Sue is Marshall's mother and Cassandra's future mother-in-law. We assume she is currently happy, proud, and all of the other positive adjectives.
