FAQs

Question

What is the venue like?

Answer

Lynwood Estate is a historic property in Alison’s hometown of Richmond, KY. The Queen Anne style mansion was a gift from Pattie Field Clay to her husband Brutus J. Clay II in 1880. Both Pattie and Brutus were of prominent families in the area. The house features an asymmetrical façade and spindle work and was constructed by a French Canadian architect. The property is now owned by Bryan and Melissa Tipton who have lovingly restored the estate over the past 5 years. Website: https://lynwoodestate.com/

Question

Is the event indoor/outdoor?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will be mostly outdoor 1. Because the venue and property are beautiful and 2. To attempt to keep all guests and staff as safe as possible given that we are still in the midst of a pandemic.

Question

What to wear?

Answer

Cocktail/Semi-Formal Attire (Keep in mind it’s Labor Day weekend and outside. Temperature will likely be 70s-80s until evening/sundown at 8ish)

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

Exit 87 off of I-75 has at least 5-6 hotels to choose from. You can find more specific information including our suggested hotels on the “travel” page of our wedding website. We have 12 rooms blocked off in the Marriott Towne Suites.

Question

What about kids?

Answer

We respectfully ask that children under 10 do not attend the reception. Exceptions for children that are in the wedding party or have wedding duties. We want the parents that attend to be able to join in celebration and relax.

Question

Can I RSVP online?

Answer

Yes! Our website is setup so you can RSVP with our link if that’s easier for you. We’ll also have formal invitations about 5 months out with RSVPs that you can mail back if you prefer to do it that way.

Question

How are you keeping guests safe given COVID-19?

Answer

1. We ask that if you are feeling sick, you do not attend, even if you’ve RSVP’ed “yes”. 2. We ask that if you are unvaccinated, you mask as much as possible during the ceremony and reception for your safety and others. 3. We will have hand sanitizing stations set up throughout the venue. 4. We will be holding all events outdoors to allow for best circulation/ventilation
