We are both so excited to share this very special place with all of our friends and family! Key West is the southernmost key at the end of a chain of islands off the southern coast of Florida. There are multiple ways to travel to Key West, we have listed them here in order of what we feel is most convenient for in and out of state guests.

Flight

Key West Airport

Flying directly into Key West Airport (EYW) - This will be the fastest and easiest method of travel for all guests. EYW is approximately a 1 hour to 1.5 hour flight from most cities in Florida. If you live on the west coast, you can expect a travel time closer to 7-9 hours. Most major airlines fly into Key West (Delta, American, United, and Alaska). Silver Airways will be the primary airline for travel within the state. Most accommodations in Key West are 10 minutes from the airport via taxi or Uber/Lyft.

Flight

Fort Lauderdale or Miami Airport

Flying into Fort Lauderdale (FLL) or Miami (MIA) Airport - This method will require that you rent a car. Choosing this option gives you more flexibility if you are looking to explore South Florida or the Florida Keys on your trip. If you chose this option, we recommend staying locally for a night and then driving out to Key West the following day, especially if you are traveling from the west coast. There are plenty of flight options flying into either airport on all major airlines. While this option is more time consuming, the drive through the Florida Keys is absolutely stunning and worth it if you have more flexibility with your schedule. However, parking can be expensive and somewhat limited in Key West. Most hotels charge $20-50 a night if parking is not included. Fort Lauderdale Airport - Key West: 185 miles, 3.5 hours drive time (most likely 4 hours with moderate traffic) Miami Airport - Key West: 159 miles, 3 hours drive time (most likely 3.5 hours with moderate traffic)

Flight

Southwest Florida Airport & Key West Express Ferry

Flying into Southwest Florida Airport (RSW) & Key West Express Ferry - This airport is located in Fort Myers, Florida. Most major airlines fly into this airport, however, options may be more limited than flying into Fort Lauderdale or Miami. This is another great way to get to Key West if you would rather travel via ferry instead of by car. The Key West Express travels from Fort Myers Beach to Key West. Fort Myers Beach is approximately 20 miles or 30 minutes from the airport. Travel time on the ferry is roughly 3.5 to 4 hours but can be dependent on weather. Ferry ticket prices range from $155-185 roundtrip.

Travel Note

Holiday Weekend Travel & Accommodations

Our wedding will take place during MLK weekend (1/17-1/20). Since this is a holiday weekend, we strongly recommend that you book your accommodations as soon as possible. Many hotels, vacation rentals, and AirBNBs will book up quickly. Also, if you are choosing to drive to Key West, traffic conditions will be better on Thursday or early Friday morning. Since the highway through the keys is only two lanes, it can slow down at times if there are a lot of people traveling towards Key West.

Travel Note

Vacation Rentals

If you would like to stay in a home or vacation rental in Key West, we recommend using Last Key Realty, Air BNB, or VRBO.
