It's not fancy, but it's our fairytale. We both started out careers at the same time. Sarah actually delayed her new hire orientation date in order to celebrate her birthday, coincidentally putting her in the same orientation group as James. James still remembers the red button-up shirt and Overwatch lanyard Sarah wore that day. Sarah still remembers James coming to the second day of orientation cleanshaven and how we all laughed at the difference (he didn't know he was actually hired yet). Sarah became a Forensic Technician who had just graduated from NC State University, and James became a Police Officer after years of working in restaurants. For the first few years of their careers, Sarah thought she just had a "friend crush" on James... turns out it was a bit more. We would slowly find out we shared a liking for many of the same things: board games, musicals, Disney, you name it. If it was nerdy we were into it. Our first "date" was after 3 years of working together. We went to go see Spiderman, for probably the 2nd or 3rd time a piece. The rest is history. James popped the question on September 18, 2021 while on a weekend trip in Asheville, NC. James' friend Jeremy is a photographer, so some photos in front of the Biltmore were a must! While back-to-back, James got down on one knee, and the first thing Sarah said was "shut the fuck up!" ...but then she said yes <3

We can't wait to celebrate this wonderous occasion with all of our family and friends. The past few years have been, to say the least, difficult. On this day we invite all of you to join us as we unite our two families and start the rest of our lives with a bright outlook on the future.
