Site of Rachel and Cody's first date. We closed down the restaurant, moved up to the rooftop lounge to keep chatting, and closed that down, too. Really, really good food, and dietary restriction friendly. Walk up the block to Steel City Pops when you're finished...we ate a lot of those popsicles while dating :)
Beat the heat with their delicious and unique popsicles! One of our favorites. There's also another location on Royal Lane (easier parking). Sometimes they have a cart at Klyde Warren Park, too...
Owned by groomsmen, Spencer Fox, Fiction Coffee is the place to get your caffeine fix!
One of the best piano bars in Dallas and a top pick by the Wall Street Journal, this bar is cozy and jazzy and located in the Warwick lobby!
Basically everything here is yummy. It's also pretty healthy if you skip the lemonade, but you shouldn't do that :)
Really famous BBQ. It's worth it. Check the hours before you go - they're limited even in normal times.
Rachel's favorite Mexican food in Dallas. The margaritas are good....
You cannot go wrong with the pad Thai, but the peanut basil chicken is ridiculous. You're welcome. Oak Lawn and Forrest are the best locations.
If you have a sweet tooth, you need to visit. That's all.
If you're an early riser or don't mind the heat, the Arboretum is a Dallas gem! Named one of the world's "most breathtaking botanical gardens" by Architectural Digest.
One of the most beautiful malls in America. Seriously. Great shopping, great window shopping, good food, and a movie theater. Plus it's always extra cold in the summer ;-)
Fun shopping and dining, plus the Angelika theater has both current release movies and often interesting foreign films!
Rachel likes the shopping at North Park a little better, but the Galleria has an ice skating rink!
When in Dallas...
Perennial Dallas favorite for young and old(er) alike!
Would this even be a list of Dallas hotspots without listing Dealey Plaza?
The DMA is part of the Dallas Arts District, which is the largest district of its kind in the U.S. One of the museum's permanent collections (which are free to the public) is a life-sized replica of Coco Chanel's home. Inside are paintings by Winston Churchill. The Nasher Sculpture Garden is also beautiful, as is the architecture of the Meyerson Symphony Center (Cody and Rachel have both played there, though with different groups). Be sure not to miss Klyde Warren park across the street from the DMA (built on top of the freeway!). The foods trucks are delicious!
