Maid of Honor
I first met Rachel in high school on a class trip to Italy, but we really bloomed into best friends in college, bonding over shared heartbreak, Gilmore Girls and a love of wine, cheese, and carbs. We've been through basically everything together over the last ten years, and I would be horribly lost in life without her. She's the Lizzy to my Jane, the prosecco to my Aperol, and the best soul sister a girl could ask for. AND, I'm super excited we get to go through this wedding thing together, as Rachel is set to get married herself in September 2022. WTTA: Free Britney, your favorite New England hike, bees, bread recipes, Law and Order SVU top 5 episodes.
Best Woman
I am thrilled to have my big sister Rosie as my Best Woman. She has been an amazing sister to me for almost 34 years, and has always had my back. Although there is some distressing photographic evidence of Rosie dressing me up like a doll with my grandmother Irene Mortensen's wigs and makeup, she has always treated me with respect and love, providing life lessons and guidance along the way. Rosie cracks me up all the time and we have shared some amazing laughs together over the years. WTTA: Parenting Hacks, Music ("Soulshine" by the Allman Brothers is a particular favorite) and Charcuterie Boards.
Bridesmaid
Sam and I have been friends since pre-school! Along with Paige, we make up the Laurel Lane girls -- we all grew up together on the same street and likely know each other too well. Despite the fact our lives have all grown in very different directions, we remain close friends. Sam has always been an incredibly loyal friend, and someone I can always rely on. I can especially always count on her to be brutally honest (but in a loving way). I'm also extremely proud to be godmother to Sam's daughter, Anna (one of my beautiful flower girls!) WTTA: All things Disney, country music and your favorite outdoor wineries/breweries.
Groomsman
Ollie is my oldest brother and the most well-traveled member of my family, having lived in England, Ukraine and other cities and towns with hyphens in their name like Manchester-by-the-Sea in Massachusetts. Ollie got me interested in the guitar at a very young age and we've shared a musical bond all these years, most recently performing together at our dad's 70th birthday party before I dramatically threw our sheet music into the fire for some reason. I love our jams together and have learned so much about music from him. WTTA: Liverpool Football Club, Post-Soviet Ukraine, The City of Leeds, Guitar.
Bridesmaid
The third-prong to the Laurel Lane girls, Paige has been fighting me over who gets to be Belle in our Laurel Lane representation of the Disney princesses for the better part of 25 years. Paige has always been someone I can be goofy with, and regardless of what we are doing, you can almost always find us laughing. Paige is also a NH bride-to-be, heading down the aisle in October 2022. WTTA: All things outdoors - hiking, camping, travel and your favorite Gilmore Girls boyfriend (spoiler, she's team Jess)
Groomsman
Eli is my older brother and like Ollie, helped to instill an early and everlasting love of music in me. Eli has an almost encyclopedic knowledge of classic rock 'n roll, having spent years of his life listening intently to radio and Classic Vinyl on Sirius FM. A graduate of the University of Vermont (as incidentally every member of my grooms-party is except Tim Featherston, Go Blue!), we have a shared love of history. I had the honor of being Best Man at Eli and Alli's wedding in Long Island, NY. WTTA: Beer and the Bar Business, Video Games, North Shore Roast Beefs, boxing, Classic Rock.
Bridesman
Tim and I first met at Fordham where we were both tour guides. After graduation, I was determined to get Tim to Boston to start our post-grad lives together. So, I started stalking indeed job postings and inundating him daily. When he finally got up here for an interview, we went for Chinese food after and started dreaming about what our Boston life together could be -- we fondly named this #BostonChinaDream. Well, that dream came true, and after a few trying months living with my parents, we spent two incredible years as roommates before Tim headed back to NYC to become Dr. Stahl. We still remain roomies at heart for life, and Tim remains the favorite Featherston child of Joanne (and probably Ed) forever. WTTA: The best brunch, Little Mix, Beyonce, and your favorite gin cocktail.
Groomsman
Tim is Emily's younger brother and I have enjoyed getting to know him these past few years. A graduate of the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, Tim is a practicing lawyer in Boston and a very smart guy. Like Ollie, Tim is a fan of Liverpool Football Club which makes him a natural rival to me and my Manchester United brethren, but we still get along swimmingly. Tim has a great sense of humor and I respect his insights and opinions on all sorts of things. WTTA: The Law (or not...), Books, Wolverines Football, Boston Eats, Rescue Dogs
Bridesmaid
Hannah and I met at our first job. -- Hannah was on her way out while I was still a naive, eager new employee, BUT I will forever be grateful to that horrible place for bringing me Hannah! She is one of the most welcoming and loving people you could ever hope to have in your life. Hannah is the friend that is always up for an adventure no matter how big or small. And always down for a Taylor Swift dance party, a fancy cocktail, or a good TV-binge. Also, Hannah once waited for 45-min for me to show up for sushi date and wasn't even slightly openly mad at me when I finally arrived. Is that not the sign of the most incredible, patient angel??? WTTA: All things travel adventures, your favorite Taylor Swift song and the best Bloody Mary you've ever had.
Groomsman
Austin came into my life relatively early as his mother Mel DeLonge was my day care provider. While we were friendly as the picture above can attest from a very young age, we didn't really hit our stride until Freshman year at Vermont Academy where Austin (alongside Brendan, Ti, Sam and Jonah) became my best friends and DSB (Day Student Boy) crew. Austin and I went on to be roommates at UVM and I am thrilled to have Austin back from Chicago for this wedding. One of the smartest, hardworking and successful people I know, I have always looked to Austin for advice and cherish our friendship enormously. I had the pleasure of being in his and Sam's wedding recently. WTTA: Hockey, Entrepreneurship, Chicago, Mini Golf, The Future of Finance, The Piano, Pushup/Sit-up Routines
Flower Girl
Anna Violet, Emily's goddaughter, will round out the kid's crews as a flower girl.
Groomsman
David came into my life in '06 as a member of the Integrated Humanities Program at UVM. We hit it off from the start - two Anglophiles as interested in Top Gear and Monty Python as Shakespeare and Milton. David (alongside my UVM-adjacent buds Trav, Ben and Noah), formed the core of my college experience alongside Austin. David has been a wonderful sounding board for me over the years and is an amazing listener. I can thank him for converting me into an Apple man, singlehandedly introducing me to my first MacBook and iPhone, as well as the sounds of Röyksopp, Air and Daft Punk. I had the honor of being in the wedding party for David and Liz's wedding. WTTA: Apple products and history, Odwalla, Cars, European Electronic Music, New Balance shoes, Bikes, Dancing, Sailing and The Life Aquatic
Junior Bridesmaids, Ushers, Ring Bearer and Flower Girl
We are lucky to have six nieces and nephews who will be part of our day: Maeve and Scarlett will be junior bridesmaids, Sean and Pete will take on the role of ushers, Jack will be our ring bearer and Annabelle will be one of the flower girls.
