We recommend flying into Charlottesville-Albemarle airport. If you'd prefer, you may come early or stay later and fly into Washington-Dulles or Ronald Reagan National airport to visit the sights in DC. Either way, we recommend renting a car to get around the Charlottesville area. If you are driving from DC, Charlottesville is about 2.5 hours away.
We have reserved a block of hotel rooms for our guests at the Homewood Suites by Hilton, where the bride and groom will be staying during the wedding, and at the Sleep Inn & Suites Monticello. Train
Amtrak
There is also an Amtrak train that runs from Union Station in Washington, DC to the Charlottesville Amtrak Station, near the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. Ride durations range from 2h15m to 2h45m, depending on when you go. Please note, if you do take the train, we still encourage you to rent a car to get around the Charlottesville area, unless you'd prefer to use Uber/Lyft while you're here! If you've never used Uber/Lyft before, we have a code for each to save you up to $25 off your first few rides.
